There are so many testnet that one can join these days for different blockchain to earn some good rewards for themselves when that blockchain actually goes to main net and things starts in real for everyone. While these are opportunities it is important to note that there are few things one must know in order to be part of these testnet. There are two types of testing that mainly goes and that include the role of validators where you must have technical skills to run a node and help with the testing process.
The second method is easy and that is via user interface where a common person can test different functions like sending tokens from one address to another, staking them, providing liquidity, bridging the tokens on different layers of that chain if possible and many more that can vary from blockchain to blockchain. Remember that these are testnet tokens that you get for free and these are not going to be given to you at the main launch and they will simply vanish.
You must also be aware about the complexities of using Web wallets like metamask, keplr, Phantom, etc as proper knowledge on how to use them is required for the smooth participation in different testnet process. Sometimes the transaction will stuck just like in the picture I am sharing below from a project I am testing right now. You can see that the approve button is simply not working in my case with the testnet I am participating in.
You will not get anything for free in testnet and that is not because you have to invest in testing but that is because you will have to give your time regularly and time is worth more than money so that is why I say that testnet are not free. So to conclude I can say that you must know how to use different web wallets and also you should be ready to study and learn things if required, you should be ready to give your time to the testnet and then you are good to participate in any testnet you want.
Thank You
It's not guarantee that every project give you reward.
Sometimes you get higher then your expectations and sometimes lower then your ex.
