Hello Darlings, I hope your week started on a great note? Irrespective of how the week started out for you, may we have reasons to rejoice during and at the end of the week. As usual, I love to share exciting lessons I learn from my business with you and I am glad to have you respond to my post every time I write.
I told you about the difficulty I had with keeping a competent staff some days ago and following your advice about allowing the young man make his decisions, he finally made up his mind and decided to stay with the business and his decision taught me certain lessons about building a business with plans and foresight.
According to the questions I asked the young man and the replies I got, I figured out he decided to stay with the business because my business partner showed him the future plans that we had for the business, this got me thinking that I would have lost a great business asset if my business did not have a plan.
Discussing the vision and the mission of a business with employees will bring about speed and co-operation to help the vision of the business get accomplished. This lesson is what I learnt recently from the event that occurred between my staff and I, employees sometimes even have a better idea to share but when they work with a boss whose intention for the business is not made clear, it might be difficult for any sound contribution to be made to help the business growth. An office space where workers work with a vision and mission, will create a better idea on what the business stands to gain and following that pattern everyday will result in more success for the business.
I also learnt the importance of being transparent as a business owner, a business owner who chooses transparency will get a better form of co-operation from members of staff than a person who always tries to be cunny. Being transparent does not come with difficulty, it only means being sincere with whatever is being said and I do not see that as being difficult to do.
Naturally, I love to appreciate the little effort of my staff and I think that is one of the reasons why I have been able to keep this particular staff. Irrespective of how stubborn or how stiff necked a person is, everyone likes to be appreciated whenever they do something good and a good boss also knows how to do that very well and in return keep good employees close to the business place.

It is always positive to hear the opinions of employees, many of them may have excellent ideas that help everything flow much more efficiently, if an employee feels that they are taken into account and listen to their opinions will be more motivated in their work and improve the relationship between all within the company.
