Hello and Namaste Everyone

This year 2021 has gone by 2 months and now we are left with 10 months in this year. We are in the month of March and this month last year lockdown was stated because of the covid pandemic. Even after the completion of almost a year, we are struggling with covid and yet to get back to our previous life. I also expect that we are not going to have our early life back real soon and maybe even after years things will not be back to normal.

Many countries have started covid vaccination and India is not moving to the next phase of it. Here the first phase of covid vaccination was started in mid-Jan 2021 and it was like that new year has brought some relaxation to the country. The first phase was to vaccinate front-line workers, health workers, and police because they are at higher risk of infection. Now when they are given the vaccine so next turn is for people over 60 years along with the ones between 45-60 years having health issues.

Govt has launched a web portal www.cowin.gov.in to take things easy. Any citizen can register and book the appointment as per eligibility and he/she will be informed once a visit is required. It's so an easy process and can be done online in few easy steps.

Co-WIN is a platform for the citizens of India to Register for COVID-19 vaccination and schedule their vaccination slots at the nearest vaccination centers.

People who are above the age of 60 and people within the age bracket of 45 to 59 years with specified co-morbidities are allowed to take the Covid-19 vaccine shot. A government ID proof will be sufficient for people over the age of 60. People aged above 45 years will have to upload a medical certificate mentioning their comorbid conditions.

Technology is playing an important part to make the process not just transparent but also easy so that everyone gets it whenever it's scheduled. This vaccination is free for everyone if taken through government facilities and paid at private medical facilities. Although the charge is not so high and this vaccine will be done in 2 doges. Each dose will charge INR 250 (almost 4USD) so it totally depends upon how anyone is liking to have it.

Indian prime minister Narendra Modi also taken the first dose of vaccination today and appeals to the public to take the same as per the eligibility.

This is indeed great news and hope that more people get vaccinated soon so that we get less fear of the problem and can move ahead to have a better life. This better life may not be the same as before but for sure it will be with less fear of infection and when more people get safety then we can also expect things to improve faster.

Thank you so much.
