Hello my dear Steemians,
We are still on our trip but this morning after breakfast we are in hotel it is raining and luckily we have such great and fast Wi-Fi while waiting I was looking through the Challenges of this week and found this one that I already have been invited by @pinkcastle so decided to use the time while waiting for the rain to stop and compose a post.
Today I wanted to invite you to the challenge running by Hindwhale Community:
Is Playing important for children's brain development |
---|
When I think back to the time of my own childhood of my child I remember my favorite thing was to play. No matter what we did, we often play a ball, what we like to do is to count when we were throwing a ball to each other. We have to count so long the ball did not touch the ground and often we reached hundreds and we were all having fun. This way we then learn the numbers from one to one hundreds.
We loved to play a game called "I spy with my little eye" this way we trained our attention and imagination, the ability to describe objects, which also made a lot of fun. The reason because some people are very good in describing but other not really and have their funny way, so we had a lot of laugh.
Another game that I liked to play with my son when he was little is a shopping, we have a little mini-shop and all the food had its prices, so we played seller and customer and were buying some stuff, the seller then needed to tell the prices and calculate together. The customer were giving a certain amount of money and received change.
Maybe because of a lot of our game involving math, calculating and deducting, my son loves Mathematics and currently studying Math of one of his major subjects. I am really glad that it came this way and I am pretty sure that our little games in his early years lead to his interest to Math.
Is Studying important for children's brain development |
---|
Studying is very important in the development of brain of our children but also in establishment of the general knowledge. I think it is very wise that when the children little up to their 6th year, the majority of their nursery time should be learning by playing and slowly get them more and more time for concentration, sitting and solving problems. That everything should gradually build up only them the children learn it without pressure.
It is important to make sure that the teachers have small classes, then it is easy to know if everything is clear and to concentrate on the children who are struggling. In my opinion, every child has his talents but it is a responsibility of us, parents and teachers to discover that sleeping talent and to develop it. You can not imagine how much we can change the life of those children.
There are some children who more talented in handcraft skills, mechanics, building and construction and if that is detected then that skill should be concentrated on. If our children are doing what they love they will happy adults and the society will have great specialists.
Hope we all will be encouraging our children doing what they are very good in and hope they will reach their dreams with that too.
We really enjoyed our Omelette, I hope you too :)
I would like to invite @davidad, @liusir, @bambuka for this challenge
My favorite game as a kid was Monopoly. I learned a great deal from that game. I learned that capital assets (ie...real estate) were incredibly important to have, especially when you earn an income from those assets. Not only was it important to make money, but it was very important to keep it and not spend it on frivolous things. I played that game for years with my parents. So I would say, if you can learn through playing games, and have fun doing it, like you did with throwing the ball and counting, that is the best of both situations.

I think in the time of our childhood Monopoly was a "must" for any family with children, many enjoyed that as family game and many things we learnt had some practical background. I agree that something we learn while playing games we definitely learn for a long time in our future because of the fun that we had while playing and not repetitive reading and learning, that has more chances to be forgotten.

I am a very very big proponent of practical application. Games have that practical application. We win and we lose in games. Losing is where I learn the most. And the risk of losing something (pride, prestige, money, the potential to get hurt) creates a motivation to win. And a motivation to improvise and use the knowledge that we have in practical ways.
Academic knowledge is essential, but it's only a foundation, it is not going to stick in our head unless we practice it in real situations. And even simulated situations like games. There is a saying in the US, “it looks good on paper.” Meaning, we can propose a plan, and it may look great, but unless we test it and put it into practice, it's just a hypothesis.

You said in your childhood the most favorite thing of yours was playing. Yes it is the favourite of us all. I think both playing and study are important for a kid in his life. Kids these days are very much talented, because they have too much facilities with them. I don't like online classes, I am in favor of physical classes.
Wish you good luck in the contest friend.

I am pleased to know that you also enjoy real games and people instead of cyber world. I think childhood brings a lot of experience that we then use in our future in practical life. Our modern youth is different they are more in video games and cyber friends. Hope many of parents will still pay attention to that when growing their children.

Greetings friends, parents playing games with their children gives the child a happy moment which is positive for the child. You play with the child. Studying for brain development is very urgent for children. In the current curriculum, children are taught with joy through play, songs and positive activities. I am a fan of your drawing.

There is something that you mentioned that has very good point that when children play and have happy moments that is something that the lessons they learn will be remembered for a long time. Also that means that we teach our children and their for their support that also give them reassurance.

Greetings friend, games are a fundamental part of children's development, with this they learn skills and knowledge. The experiences he shares about his son are very charming and a clear example of how we can unify studies with games.
Very nice post with a good message. It is necessary to discover and enhance children's talent so that they can use it as a profession in the future. Blessings and success!

I agree with you that each child/person has a talent and the task of parents with help of school is to discover and stimulate it.
It would be great if that's done and playing (games) is a way to find and develop that skill in combination with what a child wants.
Being skilled doesn't mean this skill makes happy.
All the best.

I'm sorry I'm too late to vote (luckily, not too late to resteem), but I'm feeling too much pressure cause my postgrad academic job whose formatting is the 60% of the work. I'm particularly appreciating this post as a teacher. As both learning and playing is necessary for children (even teenagers and adults), playful teaching should became a must in every school and course. My postgrad is about scholar psychology and emphasizes this topic.
