I start by saying hello to all the steemians and especially to the member of the Pakistani community, I will participate today in his contest in the last week of season 7 of the Steemit Engagement Challenge.

What is meditation? How is it useful for our health?

Our thoughts are sometimes cosmic and violent at the same time. We all have a brain, but we rarely choose the subject of its thinking, feeling or interest. There are a number of bad habits that control our brain and most of the time, it dictates absurdities about our way of living. In fact, this is what happens with us until we begin to practice meditation.

Meditation is a mental exercise. By practicing it, we are doing something practical, mainly developing qualities such as mindfulness, empathy, optimism, and managing difficulties such as stress, anxiety, and obsessive thoughts. Thus, if we train ourselves frequently enough, these abilities will transform from fleeting mental events into new habits. This process is very similar to lifting weights, except that the muscles are the brains and the barbells are the technique we practice.

The practice of meditation has many advantages, as the person is already present and fully connected with whatever activity he is practicing in addition to awareness and alertness to thoughts and feelings. With disturbing events, by focusing on what is happening in the here and now.

As a result, a person becomes less susceptible to stress and anxiety about the future, or to indulge in a sense of regret for the actions of the past, and thus less preoccupation with achieving impressive success, exaggerated self-affirmation, and deepening the bonds of relationships with others.

What are the basic guidelines of meditation for a beginner?

First, you should know that meditation is not suitable for everyone, just as there are people who do not like the color yellow, for example, there are the opposite of those who love the color pink, and there is a group of people who do not care, and there is a person who can eat pepper, and there is another person who does not like it at all, etc. The difference is natural, either you find A group of people are similar in many things to the point of being like robots. This is unnatural and God forbid.

If you tried meditation and found it did not suit you, look for another method and try it, or the least of it is that you try meditation in the right way that comforts you, and if it does not benefit you, then know that this matter is normal and there is no problem, and look for a different way to try it and you will find what suits you.

Meditation is used as a means to reach relaxation, a deep positive inner voice, or intuition. This is the effect of meditation that makes you more calm and relaxed, and you communicate with yourself more, so you feel safe, your mind is more clear, and you can deal with most or all of the situations you go through.

I advise you to take a paper and a pen and write in it everything you feel from negative feelings such as fear, anger, reprimand, etc. If you feel sad, cry and be with yourself, because you are your first friend before you are anyone else's friend, and then you can burn the paper or tear it. Do what you feel and the most important thing. To be with yourself, repeat inside you “I am sorry, forgive me, I love you, thank you” and turn the negative words inside you from negative to positive.

Only by doing what I mentioned to you, you will be freed from negative feelings and feel better. Writing is a kind of therapy. And you can repeat it whenever you want. The important thing is to be with yourself and be with her, not to leave her, judge her, or write feelings.

There are many meditation sessions on YouTube. You can try this one of them, for a person to speak while you listen to him and relax. I mentioned to you the results that you reach through meditation = a clear mind, relaxation of the mind from a lot of thinking and the body, a feeling of comfort and safety, etc.

How do you practise every day?

Since childhood, I used to practice meditation without knowing that I was practicing it, so it would come to me for a moment automatically, as if it was an invasion of thoughts that dominated my mind, my heart, my feelings, and filled my heart. At the same time, to have one vision or one specific idea in it.. And I always thought or imagined to me before I knew the truth of meditation that it was a kind of madness, but, when I learned its truth, I knew that from that madness is some revelation of the mind.

For example, while I was preoccupied with my work and concentrating on a part of my work, I noticed new events and ideas circulated at that time, so my conscious mind adopted them, analyzing them, and I stopped what I was doing for a moment, during which all my existence died focusing on them. And I said..

This is just an idea, and an idea without feeling remains just an idea, and feeling without action or reaction remains just a feeling, and action or its response without repetition is limited to them, so why did I worry about it?

At that time, I felt that I was right, and I remained in this state for a few minutes, analyzing what I said and discussing, and applying that to what happened to me, and I found it correct.

What kind of good result do you find in your body after meditation?

I can clearly understand that the reason for the calm, even for a short time, is that my attention has been diverted to something else rather than being carried away by searching for what are the stiffest places in my body and constantly wondering when I will rest and keeping track of all the bodily sensations caused by anxiety, etc.

Meditation simply distracted me for a few minutes. And when your attention is distracted, for example, from these words of mine now, it will seem as if they have completely disappeared from the space of your momentary awareness. As another example, there are many sounds that are happening in our surroundings now at the same time, but we focus on some of them and do not focus on others, and therefore the latter will seem completely non-existent to us.

It was so sweet to experience how meditation can help sometimes, and I think it was those moments that finally made me realize that what I'm doing is real and works.

I heard a lot about meditation, but I didn't want to know what its advantages were, or maybe at least I didn't understand it, as it is said that the meditator is the only one who will realize what has changed before and after entering the path of meditation.

I can now resort to meditation at night in my bed, and it facilitates the revelation of sleep.

And I can definitely say that the 10 minutes I spend meditating is the best quality of all the tasks I do, I'm not going to be radical and say that meditation changed my life, or that I cured anxiety or got rid of insomnia, no, never. This could happen, I don't know, but what I do know is that I'm still just a learner who sometimes stumbles and succeeds at other times. Some people spend years learning and understanding meditation.

Your insights on what meditation is and how it can be beneficial for our health, as well as basic guidelines for beginners and personal experiences with meditation are commendable.

I completely agree that our thoughts can be overwhelming at times and meditation is a great way to calm the mind and develop mindfulness, empathy, and optimism, as well as manage stress, anxiety, and obsessive thoughts. Meditation is a mental exercise that, when practiced frequently enough, can become a new habit just like lifting weights.

I appreciate your advice that meditation may not suit everyone, and if it does not work, we can try different methods until we find what works for us. It is important to be with ourselves and take the time to focus on our thoughts and emotions. Writing our negative feelings and turning them into positive ones is a great way to practice therapy, and there are many meditation sessions available on YouTube that we can try.

Your personal experiences with meditation are insightful and relatable. I believe that meditation is a personal journey that can take time and practice to perfect. Distractions can easily take us away from being in the present moment, but meditation can help us become more aware and relaxed, and help us deal with the situations that we encounter.

Overall, this post provided valuable insights on meditation, its benefits, and personal experiences. It encourages readers to take the time to practice mindfulness and focus on the present moment, and to try different methods until we find what works for us.

Good luck

Assalam o Alaikum @kouba01,

You have written such a beautiful and informative post about meditation. You have written each point perfectly and with great clarity. It was such an informative read!

Your advice to practice meditation is very insightful as your words are wise. Writing really is a form of therapy that can heal many minds from the sadness and pain in our lives. It is important to take some time for yourself to reflect and be at peace with what's happening in and around you. Moreover, trying different methods of meditation will help determine which approach suits you the best.

I also liked your explanation on how we experience things differently when we meditate. With regular practice, it can help us shift our focus and comprehend things better across multiple levels. The awareness it instills in you and being mindful of your own thoughts and feelings, is something priceless.

I think meditation is such an important part of self-care, and I'm grateful for your guidance on this journey. Keep inspiring us with your wonderful posts and may God bless you always!

Meditation makes our minds calmer. And if meditation is done a few minutes before going to bed, it is believed to be able to make sleep more soundly. Good post. Good luck for the contest. I have also participated in this contest.
