It is winter season and fresh vegetables are easily available. Amla is also easily available in winter season.
Amla is very beneficial for health. We should definitely eat Amla in any form like pickle, jam or candy.
That is why every time in winter season I prepare candy from Amla.
This candy does not spoil even for a year and is also very beneficial for our health.
Today I am going to share my recipe of Amla candy with all of you.

Ingredients:

Half kg Amla, half kg sugar, one lemon, a small piece of ginger, Dakhni chilli, black salt and plain salt according to taste, one teaspoon cornflour, one teaspoon ghee, one teaspoon chaat masala and two teaspoons sugar.

Method of making Amla candy:

First of all I washed Amla and wiped it with a clean cloth and dried it. Then I heated water in a steamer and put Amla to steam.

After steaming for 10 minutes, when the amla started bursting, I took the amla out of the steamer.

After steaming, I separated the seeds of all the amla. After removing the seeds, I put amla, ginger and white pepper in a mixer jar and made a fine paste. (Sometimes when I don't have dakhni mirch, I add a green chilli or a little black pepper.)

Now I put a pan on the gas and added this finely ground amla paste, sugar, plain salt and black salt in it. Let it cook till the sugar dissolves.

When the sugar dissolved, I added the juice of one lemon to it. Dissolve one spoon of cornflour or cornstarch in two spoons of water and mix it in the amla paste and also added one spoon of ghee. Now let it cook till it thickens. I greased a plate and kept it aside.

When this fine paste of amla thickens and starts leaving the pan. Then I turned it over and spread it on a greased plate. After spreading it on the plate, I left it to cool and set for 15-20 minutes.

Now I mixed two spoons of powdered sugar and one spoon of chaat masala in a big bowl.

After 15-20 minutes, when the candy set, I cut it into small pieces with the help of a knife.

After cutting, I put all the candies in the bowl in which I had mixed powdered sugar and chaat masala and tossed them with the masala.

This way the masala spread evenly on all the candies and the sweet and sour taste of the masala enhanced the taste of the candy and it also looked very beautiful.

So friends, this was a healthy candy recipe made by me using amla.

I am sharing some photos of my recipes with all of you.

All these photos have been taken from my own camera.

Now I invite my friends to participate in this lovely contest . @rosselena @wuddi and @fannyescobar @marcybetancourt @safridafatih @damithudaya @afrinn
