Why are towers and bridges shaped like triangles?

Example

Matchis stick spleen is so weak that it breaks if a heavy object is placed on it.
But the challenge for me is that I have to prepare the spleen such a structure that if any heavy object is placed on it, it will not break.
So I made two structures out of matchis sticks, one cube shape and the other triangle shape.

Two Structures

Result

Cube Shape

When a brick is placed on a cube shape, it breaks easily

Triangle Shape

When one brick is placed on the triangle shape, it remains upright, and when another brick is placed, it also remains upright, and when a third brick is placed, it also remains upright.

Uses

That is why towers and bridges and poles have a triangular shape.
So that they can bear heavy weight.
