Gino torna a “casa”
Finalmente e, lasciatemelo dire, tardivamente, le ceneri di Gino Done' andranno a riposare a Cuba, insieme a quelle di Fidel, del Che e di quasi tutti gli 82 rivoluzionari che con lui salparono dal Messico sul Granma per iniziare l'epopea Rivoluzionaria di Cuba e del suo popolo.

Ho gia' parlato di Gino, la sua storia e' nota, non e' il caso di ripeterla, oggi mi piace pensare che sia felice di riposare in eterno nella amata Cuba, nella terra che un suo connazionale genovese, Cristoforo Colombo defini' la piu' bella su cui occhio umano si sia mai posato.

Dopo el Triunfo de la Revolucion Gino emigro' negli Usa e non torno' piu' a Cuba fino a quando Fidel non lo mando' a cercare per celebrare quell'italiano senza il quale forse nulla sarebbe accaduto
in quel preciso momento storico.
Si perche' il denaro per l'acquisto del barco Granma a Fidel in Messico fu proprio Gino Done' a portarlo, 20 mila dollari dati dal cognato.
Non e' ben chiaro perche' Gino resto' cosi' lontano da Cuba per tanto tempo, le ipotesi sono molte ma le lascerei dove stanno, almeno per questa volta.

Gino e' morto nel 2008 a 84 anni in una casa di cura a S.Dona' del Piave mentre viveva a Noventa.
Fidel e Raul inviarono da Cuba 8000 rose rosse per i suoi funerali dove fu presente l'ambasciatore cubano in Italia.
Gino fu cremato a Mirano e le sue ceneri sono a S.Dona' del Piave custodite dall'avocato di famiglia, Luca Pavanello che, grazie anche all'associazione Italia-Cuba ha organizzato la partenza che
sara' per il prossimo novembre.
Gino torna a “casa”.

A questo viaggio si unira' il regista e cantante sandonatese Giovanni Giusto che scrisse la canzone “L'Italiano del Granma”.
A Gino dedico' un busto anche l'artista di Jesolo Carlo Pecorelli, busto che porto' personalmente in Messico a Tuxpan per aggiungerlo, unico mancante, a quelli dedicati al Che ed a tutti gli stranieri a bordo del Granma.
Partenza il 27 novembre, volo Air Europe.

Sabato 2 dicembre ci dovrebbe essere la deposizione delle ceneri all'Avana con l'associazione nazionale combattenti.
Ad accogliere Gino dovrebbe esserci Raul a cui l'italiano insegno' a sparare.
Il 5 dicembre partenza per Santa Clara per la visita al Mausoleo del Che, il giorno dopo a Trinidad per la visita alla casa dove Done' abito' con la moglie, la Rivoluzionaria Norma Turino Guerra.
Norma era molto amica di Aleida Marche de la Torre futura seconda moglie di Ernesto Che Guevara de la Serna.

Fatemelo dire che tutto questo e' molto bello.
Era giusto che Gino riposasse nella sua Cuba, si e' guadagnato armi in pugno questo diritto, e' uno di quegli italiani che mi rende fiero del mio paese.

Finally and, let me tell you, belatedly, Gino's ashes
Done' will go to rest in Cuba, together with those of Fidel, del
Che and almost all the 82 revolutionaries who sailed with him from Mexico on the Granma to begin the Revolutionary epic of Cuba
and of his people.

I have already talked about Gino, his story is known, there is no need to repeat it, today I like to think that he is happy to rest forever in his beloved Cuba, in the land that one of his Genoese compatriots,
Christopher Columbus defined it as the most beautiful on which the human eye looks
never laid.

After the Triunfo de la Revolucion Gino emigrated to the US and elsewhere
he went back to Cuba until Fidel sent to look for him
celebrate that Italian without whom perhaps nothing would have happened
at that precise historical moment.
Yes, because the money for the purchase of the Granma boat from Fidel in Mexico was Gino Done' who brought it, 20 thousand dollars given by his brother-in-law.
It is not clear why Gino stayed so far from Cuba for so long, there are many hypotheses but I would leave them where they are, at least for this once.

Gino died in 2008 at the age of 84 in a nursing home in S.Dona' del
Piave while living in Noventa.
Fidel and Raul sent 8,000 red roses from Cuba for his funeral where the Cuban ambassador in Italy was present.
Gino was cremated in Mirano and his ashes are in S.Dona 'del Piave
kept by the family lawyer, Luca Pavanello who, thanks also to the Italy-Cuba association, organized the departure which
it will be next november.

The director and singer from San Donato will join this trip
Giovanni Giusto who wrote the song “L'Italiano del Granma”.
The Jesolo artist Carlo Pecorelli also dedicated a bust to Gino,
bust that he personally brought to Mexico to Tuxpan to add it, the only one missing, to those dedicated to Che and to all the foreigners on board the Granma.
Departure on November 27, Air Europe flight.

The burial of the ashes should take place on Saturday 2 December
in Havana with the national fighters association.
To welcome Gino there should be Raul to whom the Italian taught
to shoot.
On December 5, departure for Santa Clara to visit the Mausoleum
del Che, the next day in Trinidad to visit the house where Done lived with his wife, the Revolutionary Norma Turino Guerra.
Norma was close friends with the future Aleida Marche de la Torre
second wife of Ernesto Che Guevara de la Serna.

Let me tell you this is all very nice.
It was right that Gino should rest in his Cuba, he has earned this right in arms, he is one of those Italians who makes me proud of my country.
