Bolshoye Kalikino. Part two

If you highlight the brightest places with villages from the entire Velikoustyugsky district, then these will certainly be places on Sukhona. I can't explain why I'm so drawn to water bodies, because I'm afraid of water...

Yes, my childhood was connected with Sukhona...but not just with it one.

I spent a lot of time both on the Northern Dvina and on Strelna, and even the South was imprinted in my memory.

Maybe Sukhona is an older river with fossils and a different history.

Or maybe everything is simpler: many villages have been preserved on the banks of this river and many of them are inaccessible, which only increases the attraction.

I don't know if there are permanent residents in Bolshoye Kalikino, but in summer it is quite lively here.

Almost every house with signs of life.

Only some houses are preserved indefinitely.

But there is no sense of abandonment and no return, although there are clearly few prospects for the development of the village.

At the place of the village, the Sukhona River makes a winding turn.

Roughly speaking, Kalikino is standing on a turn...but it is too smooth, since the river is rather big.

If you look at the map of the satellite, you get the feeling that the village was twice as big.

And I saw and captured what was left.

Strangely, there is nothing on the map of tracts and former villages near Kalikino.

And it seemed to me that there were villages everywhere...

There is also a hydrological post in the Bolshoye Kalikino area.

Here the water level is measured during high water.

One street is located almost at the shore.

And others are slightly higher. My favorite height difference!

If it were not for the deforestation in these places, it seems to me, there would be no road here.

Almost six kilometers from the paved highway! Walking is long and difficult. And the track wasn't always there.

There has never been a land trade route here. There is only a waterway and all the villages are near the water.

If given the opportunity, I would still like to visit here in winter.

Bolshoye Kalikino left great impressions starting from the way to the village, all the way to the village.

This is the place I would like to return to.
