Hello All!
In this post I want to share the second stage of Aceh's fishing boat construction. In this second stage, the workers install the ship's body boards.
The wood used is very high quality meranti stone with a size of 1.5 x 9 inches with a length of 4.8 meters.
If in rupiah the price of this wood is worth eight million rupiah per cubic. This wood is very suitable to be used for the body of the ship because it is water and sun resistant.
The installation of this body is very neat and painstaking, with no rift between one row of boards and another. The builders straighten it using their elbows.
In addition to being used for the ship's body, the installation of the ship's body greatly determines the shape of the ship, so the builders work on it carefully.
The installation of the baseboards of the ship's body is very complicated, because, before the boards are installed, first, the boards must be made tapered by using a lever by means of being flanked by two wooden slats that are locked with bolts.
It will take a few days to get maximum tapering results. After that, the boards can be installed on the front of the ship and the back of the ship.
The picture above has explained in detail how to install the early stage boards for the construction of Aceh fishing boats.
Hopefully this post can be an inspiration for all of you. See you in the next post.
