Siempre crecí escuchando estas palabras en casa, NO TENER MAYOR CONCEPTO DE NOSOTROS, NO TENER MENOR CONCEPTO DE LO QUE SOMOS. Siempre fue el lema en casa cuando se observaba alguna manifestación de prepotencia, arrogancia o altivez.

Una virtud aparentemente sencilla de hablar a primera instancia, pero verdaderamente no. Desde la religión cristiana hasta la budista, desde los países de habla hispana hasta los de habla anglosajona, todos admiran y respetan a esta virtud tan escasa hoy en día.

La humildad consiste en saber cuáles son nuestras virtudes, debilidades y actuar en base a este conocimiento. Parece un concepto abstracto y simple a la vez, pero si miras la definición de soberbia que es la valoración de uno mismo por encima de los demás, cobra aún más sentido en sí la definición de humildad, puesto que aquel que no tiene conocimiento del valor verdadero de sus virtudes o debilidades, podría ser un soberbio si cree que es mejor que los demás o por el contrario, si cree que es menor en virtud, sería un complejo de inferioridad, lo que desde mi punto de vista convierte a la humildad en un balance, en una armonía perfecta.

La humildad te permite ejercer liderazgo sano, te evita juzgar y te ayuda a comprender, te ayuda a buscar soluciones y no a imponer, te ayuda a sonreír y saber entender que no siempre tenemos la razón, que se nos hace muy sencillo equivocarnos y herir a los demás, pero sobre todas las cosas, la humildad nos facilita a pedir perdón sin ataduras y sin vergüenza cuando nos equivocamos o dañamos a alguien.

Así que, no estaría mal intentar imitar las características que destacan a la humildad: como saber reconocer y dar reconocimiento al trabajo duro, reconocer que no existe placer en superar a los demás, aprender a tolerar mejor la falta de atención, no ceder ante los prejuicios, ceder la razón, ser agradecidos, saber escuchar, compartir, reconocer la importancia de otras personas, saber ganar y perder, estar abierto a aprender, no tener miedo de fallar, de ignorar algo o simplemente pedir apoyo. Si se nos dificultad alguna de estas características, pues es una oportunidad de crecer o trabajar en nuestra humildad, pues todos somos arrogantes y soberbios en algún punto de nuestra vida, solo que aquellos que creen que no lo son, simplemente ignoran la parte en que son arrogantes.

Así como Miguel de Cervantes dijo: La humildad es la base y fundamento de todas las virtudes, y que sin ella no hay alguna que lo sea, Proverbios 16:18-19 dice: La soberbia precede al fracaso; la arrogancia anticipa la caída.

I always grew up hearing these words at home, HAVE NO GREATER CONCEPT OF OURSELVES, HAVE NO LESSER CONCEPT OF WHAT WE ARE. It was always the motto at home whenever any manifestation of arrogance, arrogance or haughtiness was observed.

A virtue apparently simple to talk about at first glance, but not really. From the Christian to the Buddhist religion, from Spanish-speaking countries to English-speaking countries, everyone admires and respects this virtue that is so scarce nowadays.

Humility consists of knowing what our virtues and weaknesses are and acting based on this knowledge. It seems an abstract and simple concept at the same time, but if you look at the definition of pride, which is the valuation of oneself above others, the definition of humility makes even more sense, since he who has no knowledge of the true value of his virtues or weaknesses, could be proud if he believes he is better than others or on the contrary, if he believes he is lesser in virtue, it would be an inferiority complex, which from my point of view makes humility a balance, a perfect harmony.
Humility allows you to exercise healthy leadership, it prevents you from judging and helps you to understand, it helps you to look for solutions and not to impose, it helps you to smile and to know how to understand that we are not always right, that it is very easy for us to make mistakes and hurt others, but above all, humility helps us to ask for forgiveness without ties and without shame when we make a mistake or hurt someone.

So, it would not be bad to try to imitate the characteristics that make humility stand out: such as knowing how to recognize and acknowledge hard work, recognizing that there is no pleasure in surpassing others, learning to tolerate better the lack of attention, not giving in to prejudices, giving in to reason, being grateful, knowing how to listen, sharing, recognizing the importance of other people, knowing how to win and lose, being open to learn, not being afraid of failing, ignoring something or simply asking for support. If we have difficulty with any of these characteristics, it is an opportunity to grow or work on our humility, because we are all arrogant and arrogant at some point in our lives, only those who believe they are not, simply ignore the part where they are arrogant.

Just as Miguel de Cervantes said: Humility is the basis and foundation of all virtues, and that without it there is none that is, Proverbs 16:18-19 says: Pride goes before failure; arrogance anticipates the fall.
