Sitting at home, unexpected troubles come crashing in. When I first received the notice from the homeroom teacher that my child was to share the original painting of the winter vacation practical activity and give an off - script speech at the school's opening ceremony, I was completely taken aback and at a loss. I felt as if this task had dropped from the sky, like falling into a "pit" unprepared.

However, upon calming down and thinking it over, this so - called "pit" isn't really a pit. Instead, it can be regarded as a challenge. After all, it offers the child a rare opportunity to showcase themselves in front of all the teachers and students in the school, which can significantly enhance their communication skills and psychological resilience.

This all started with the school's opening ceremony at the beginning of the new semester. Two days before the start of school, the homeroom teacher suddenly informed me that the child needed to prepare the original painting of the winter vacation practical activity, share the winter vacation practical experience at the opening ceremony, and also give an off - script speech.

As soon as I heard this, I was dumbfounded. I was muttering to myself, when on earth did the child draw this painting? Why don't I have any recollection of it at all?

Subsequently, I quickly and carefully checked the winter vacation homework submission software. Then I remembered that in mid - January, less than two weeks after the winter vacation began, the child had completed the assignment of drawing a painting related to the Year of the Snake and submitted it to the school's designated homework software platform. After that, we didn't pay any more attention to this matter.

Who would have thought that a month later, as the school was about to start, the teacher suddenly brought up this matter again, and I had almost completely forgotten about it. When I got home, I immediately rummaged through everything to look for that painting.

After searching for a long time, the child told me that the painting was missing. I was extremely angry and helpless. There was no other option, so I had to ask the child to draw it again immediately that night.

Time was of the essence. Not only did the child have to redraw the painting, but also write a speech and memorize it. At around 9 o'clock in the evening, the teacher sent another message saying that the school required each child who was going to give a speech on stage to wear ancient costumes, specifically Hanfu.

I hurriedly searched for Hanfu at home. The Hanfu we had at home was bought when the child participated in an activity three years ago. Now that the child has grown taller and fatter, the Hanfu is clearly too small to wear, and the buttons on the chest can hardly be fastened.

But the speech was scheduled for the next day, and there simply wasn't enough time to buy a new one. I had to quickly sort out the Hanfu and found that it could barely fit the child.

Then, the child and I redid the painting together, and I also helped the child draft the speech. I told the child that there was no need to memorize the script word for word. As long as the child could roughly talk about the painting process and the experiences during the winter vacation, and had a clear train of thought, and remained calm when giving the speech on stage.

In this way, after being in a rush for over a day, we finally completed the task on the day of the opening ceremony. There was a rehearsal before the opening ceremony, and the process went fairly smoothly.

The child told me, "I was really nervous. I had never given a speech in front of so many people before. I had only performed on stage in piano competitions before, but this was the first time I had to speak in a speech." Fortunately, we finally successfully completed this challenge.
