The cooler days are really great and it's helping me to enjoy some longer and harder runs as my 24 hour ultra is just 10 days away.
No major aches from my fall a couple of days ago although I still have a nice wound on my right cheek.
My legs loosened up quickly on my run and I was going along quickly after only about a half mile.
Today I would hea up into the Sierry Peaks neighborhood which meant the first 2 miles were mostly uphill with a quarter mile downhill afterwards and cresting out with another climb up to about 5 km. A couple more miles up and down and then it was a fast downhill back to home. I was able to handle the climbs well and had the energy to run well the whole way. While my pace isn't that great right now (9:40ish for 10 km) it's still encouraging that I've improved a lot since the start of Summer and now I just have to keep it up while trying out a few 24 hour races.
As usual, 3 miles in the afternoon around Lynx Lake with Lulu-she had fun and the relaxing time in the forest was a nice way to wrap up my day.
