An additional direction for Steem Skillshare?

I know that discussions like this tend to be held on "Discord," but I thought I might post it here so people can consider the implications at their leisure. I recognize that the primary goal within this community is to create a place where instructors can teach, and learners can learn while blowing off a little "steem." The reality is that it is more efficient for an instructor to teach those who know "Как дела?", "¿Cómo lo haces?", "Nasılsınız?" or "어떻게 지내세요?" to post a single linked phrase like this: How do you do?! When I taught a course in Ukraine several years ago, I posted a document with typical conversations. I would link the sentences to short videos showing a close-up of the mouth and repeating the phrases multiple times with different inflections. This document and videos gave the students the ability to practice at their leisure.

I was content to continue down that path, not because I desire to teach but to see what pops up. I like learning about other people. My thoughts changed when I read this post by @atim1234.

Most people are too busy (or too lazy) to do something themselves. There is also a question of skill. I am adequate at most things I do but have not enough ambition to concentrate in any specific area. I used to teach Photoshop, but artistic ability skipped my generation, so I never use Photoshop. There is an expression, "those who can - do; those who can't - teach; those who can't teach - teach teachers ." I used to teach teachers.

It may be that we need to cultivate another group to be in our community. So far, we have instructors and learners; maybe we need to consider a third role - promoters! We have some members (e.g. @milakz, @atim1234, @rachelshieff) whose skills and businesses could be promoted to the outside world via our community. Airbnb doesn't own houses to rent, but it provides the mechanism for the people who do own the houses to do so.

Perhaps people can consider the implications of this. This suggestion isn't a "have to do," merely a "maybe this is interesting." I will illustrate how we can promote @milakz and combine it with a bit of a project I have been thinking about in my next post.

Good job

I really like your idea @dwarrilow2002 An additional idea would be for the teachers and specialists to provide their service free for the promoters, in the form of, for example, a free coaching session. The promoter could then promote the member with a true testimonial - word of mouth.

If you go to a restaurant and have a great time with great food, you'll tell all your friends about it and they'll want to go to the restaurant. This works the same way.

Thanks,
