The art of hamburger. Beginner guide to burgerology

Hello guys,

Today I would like to share with you something a bit different, of course, linked with food, that is one of my main passion.

I normally shared homemade Italian food, if you are curious about it, and it is the first time you read one of my post I invite you to take a minute and check my blog, I hope you will be not disappointed, but today I would like to present you my personal approach to hamburgers preparation, and cooking.

I know that all food can be good, even the one that normally, at least in our culture, is considered to be junky.
Furthermore, I'm well aware that a burger will be never healthy as a good salad, but why not to try to cook something better than the usual fast food one!?!?

Skills


To be able to prepare this kind of burger, it is mandatory in my opinion to have some basic skills, in particular, it is necessary to be able to choose the best ingredients, and to have the patience to prepare and spend the right time on something that normally is served after a minute or two.

In my opinion this kind of patients come together with a big love on food, and with the curiosity to elevate the flavors of every kind of dish, and transform even something super simple is something delicious!

Technique


The main idea of my homemade burger, is to prepare the patties from fresh meat, and to use the best veggies and salad available together with the spices and eggs, and prepare them by hands.

Even the bread can be homemade, but for this article I had no time enough to prepare them!

It is important, for me in order to get a more juicy patty to mix, beef and pork minced meat together.

Process


The first step is to mix the minced meat together, and add big salt, black pepper, and a bit of red pepper.

Plus I added a bit of curry to give extra flavor, just my personal taste, but is are not a spicy lover I would skip this part.

After that, meanwhile the meat, and the species start to mix together, I cut onion and garlic in very small pieces, and I mix all together with two eggs.

I mixed everything together quite accurately with my hands, and I started to press with a bit of strength in order to let everything stay together for the patties preparation.

To better help myself, and create a more compact preparation, I put a transparent foil on top of the meat, like in the photo.

And I pressed everything with as much weight as possible, I put 3 kilos of rice, and something more.

Like this I have been able to compress and mix everything together as best.

I let everything rest for a few minutes, meanwhile I prepared the other ingredients for the final burger.

Once everything was ready, after at least 10 minutes, I started to prepare the patties with my hands, and I tried to compress as much as possible.

I used a toast grill, so I was able to compress even more the patties and give them the proper burger shape.

Finally, I put the bread, with the cheese, on the grill to let it melt for a minute or two.

Once the cheese was starting to melt, I added the lettuce and the tomato slice, and I close the sandwich and I close everything for 1 minute in the toast grill, and voilà.

Later you can add your favorite sauce, mine is a mix of ketchup and tabasco.
