Millet bread for stuffing crop November 2019.jpg

On Wednesday morning I headed up early to get the bear of a window frame stained. It took me nearly 4 hours to do. I came back, did my morning chores and sat down for awhile. These marathon standing sessions wipe me right out.

Later in the morning I got laundry going, finally, as it’s been put off since Monday. Then I cubed a loaf of millet bread and left it out to go stale.

Later I made pumpkin pudding. I don’t eat wheat, and pie crusts just don’t come out well with anything else. So I just make pudding.

Thanksgiving is going to be pretty low key here. My son is bringing his girlfriend and we plan to eat about 1PM. I have a small window to stain and a bit of cooking in the morning: stuffing, stuffed celery, shrimp and cocktail sauce, and then the simple cooking of tenderloin and broccoli and heating of rolls. Not a lot from the farm this year.

Friday is the last window to stain, and just in time, as the low night temps come back and we will have to drain the water at the barn again. I’ll have just made it, I hope.

You guys have been BUSY. I'm always amazed by how much you get done, but with the construction and winter coming on, I have no idea how you've also found the time to get all this cooking done! Happy Thanksgiving to you.

By hook or by crook, as they say. :)) It takes us a while, but we do eventually get there. :))

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!
