No, I have not, but that seems like a good idea! Do you own quail? How does it work for you feeding them those?

Currently we do not on our homestead but in years past so yes. We feed alfalfa pellets to our sheep in the winter so we would simply sift off some of the fine flakes and mix it into the quail food at 5% roughly. We had great success and we do this also with our turkey chicks. I spoke to an old timer about this years ago and he said it is needed for wild birds, it aids in digestion.
