Harvesting My First Pineapple

in homesteading •  7 years ago  (edited)

Good morning, Steemians!

I wanted to show all of you the first pineapple that I've ever harvested. The plant from which this pineapple came was given to me by a friend of mine. The pineapple we grew from the top of another is still ripening up, but is even bigger than this one!

Yesterday I made a post in which I said that I knew it was coming soon the time to harvest it, but today the day has come

I still think that this pineapple has a day or two before I'm going to eat it, but it looked and it smelled like the right time to harvest; the smell is very pungent.

Wow, it must be heavenly to have pineapple's growing right at home!

Heavenly might be overdoing it, but it's definitely nice!

Incredible accomplishment! You are now one with that pineapple, a beautiful symbiotic relationship! Enjoy its healing electrical properties when you decide to indulge. Let's raise awareness on the powerful potential of growing our own fruits! SO MUCH LOVE!

Thanks man :D

You're very welcome! Continue to share your fruit growing adventures and I will share mine. Check out my post on my herb garden and berry bush :)

Oooh, that's cool! I would love to harvest some fruits actually.

Gotta plant them first! :D

Haha, in WHAT! My house ain't that big and my balcony is made for ants :') Its suuuuper tiny!

Ohhh nice. Think it will be a long time before I can grow one of those in wild and windy west Wales.

I'll keep dreaming of my tropical greenhouse 😊

Cool. We keep planting pineapples from the cuttings but then move before we can eat the fruit. Time to look for a house and stay a little longer hehe.

You can always keep them potted too and move them with you :D

Hehe. We tend to move between countries or to the other side of the country which doesn't allow us to take many plants or other stuff. This time we plan to stay a little longer... but you never know!

awesome camera work
the dog does not care about the harvest, hilarious
thanks for sharing

Wow....Thanks For Sharing This Post...

That looks tasty! How long did it take to grow?

2 years!

Lovely, must be great to live somewhere you can get them really fresh.
