I completely expected to see folks spamming the comments on here.

Good points. With my wordpress blog I have seen big traffic come from leaving quality comments on other blogs.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam

    The spammers tend to hang out in the mid to high end rewarded blogs. They also like to go after certain tags as they have large potential of people seeing it.

    We also have a habit of telling them “no thanks” and people do flag spam here. People either learn and adapt or anger a whale and fold. Some do recover and end up being great members of the community.

    A lot of it can be around the culture that is created.
