Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC will launch a blockchain mobile phone by the end of this year.

The new smartphone is named Exodus. The goal is for the device to be positioned simultaneously as a single mobile point for decentralized networks and a portfolio of virtual currencies.

According to Phil Chen of HTC, the company plans to release the smartphone on the market by the end of this year, CoinDesk reports.

HTC is not the only manufacturer to work on a smartphone dedicated to block technology. Sirin Labs raised $ 157 million through primary digital offering to develop the Finney-block product.

However, to date, HTC is the largest company that plans to sell block mobile devices.

The manufacturer plans to support the smartphone network to support the Bitcoin, Eterium, Dfinity and Lightning Network blocks, and to develop an entirely new block network to connect all Exodus phones at a later stage.

If the Taiwanese manufacturer's venture is successful, the company will become one of the pioneers in the Crypto universe as it will put decentralized systems in the hands of consumers.

Raymond Pao, Vice President of VR New Technologies at HTC, commented that the company "will build a framework and phone to power the decentralized network."

"We believe that smartphones will be a major component of the entire ecclesiastical crypto. This phone will serve as a hub, just as personal computers were in the early days of the internet, "he says.

"If we look at the industry, it moves in two directions. One is 100% centralized so that platform companies know every detail for the users. The value of platform companies is that they can provide personalized services to every single person. The more users share the company-platform, the better-personalized services the platform companies can provide.

On the other hand, there are users who are more interested in confidentiality and want to have the information and identification for themselves. Since the phone is the most personal device we use every day, we want to work for a decentralized ecosystem with users who are mostly interested in privacy, "says Raymond Pao.

As such, this shows the deepening link between mobile devices and block technology. It exists in a variety of forms - from mobile cryptographic storage applications to the option to transfer virtual currency via SMS.

The challenge for HTC will be to discover and develop the next big thing in the smartphone world. According to Chen, the company wants to build a product that offers a high level of security for digital assets stored in the device, but without restricting users to use whatever wishes online portfolios.

According to Statista, nearly 3 billion people worldwide use a smartphone. Just imagine what would happen if all of these active phones are fed and powered by a decentralized system that is already a lot based on block technology. In addition to positives, however, it can also lead to potential dangers.

"We really are interested in portable identification and that consumers have their own identity and data, and we think the phone is the best place to do that," says Phil Chen.

HTC will take a pre-sale policy on its smartphone. The company will accept payments only in Bitcoin and Ether.

"We are going to pre-sell and accept the ether and the Bitcoin for pre-orders," Chen added.

If the specs are correct, I may be getting a new HTC in the near future; if only to test and review. @crypto-rev thanks for the update, up-voted and resteemed!
