Right, it looks like i have to make a wallet, send the money there, then send it to bitpay because they cant give me a simple address to send money to.

I can get from steem to a bitpay card, the fees werent as bad as i thought they'd be, that i can tell.
There are too many moving parts in the equation, and i havent grasped them all.

The bitpay card hasnt paid yet and my buddy hasnt gotten his card approved yet.
But dont let that stop you, i figure i got a few years left.
In fact, you could just delegate to the society if you arent comfortable powering it up.
In 10 short years, if the govt doesnt collapse, i will have more money than i know what to do with.
Im hoping to not have to wait that long, but the last time i got raided for my choice in financing options, so i may have to.
