There is a Genocide Going on in Nigeria

I greet you all, lovely steemians.

My name is kenneth Zakulekule. I love freedom and I fight for. Where there is injustice, I stand my ground and say NO. One day, this might cost my life. If that be the case, I'll be glad that I lived for something.

A friend told me about steemit as early as 2017 but I couldn't join then due to time constraints. When I checked lately, I found out that steemit is a great place to express one's self because not only is it offering money to its content creators, it equally gives them the most desired liberty to say the truth the way it is.

I'm here specifically for this liberty. I seek for audience, for avenues where I can tell the world about what is happening to my people without the fear of being silenced.

I'm from Benue state, Nigeria, West Africa.

In Nigeria today, freedom of information has been overly compromised. All the dailies have been bought over by the government. TV and radio houses are equally in the hand of the government. The privately owned media houses have all been given standard to abide by. The standard is nothing other than sticking to falsehood. All those who tried to be different have had their licenses revoked.

Right now, as I type, their is a bill in the house of assembly called social media regulation bill. This bill is designed to punish those who dare to criticize the government's incompetencies on social media.

In Nigeria, there are two terrorist groups. One is boko haram. The other is Fulani herdsmen.

These two deadly sects have killed people in thousands over the years and are still killing.

In Benue today, the people living in 6 local governments have been displaced by the herdsmen terrorists. They kill, maim, rape and do all sorts abominable things in our land.

Each time they drive people away from their land, they quickly fill the space with cows.

It's a clear case of pogrom going on in my place. The saddest part is that the government of the day is giving full support to these terrorist.

It's on this background that I have chosen to sign up on this great platform so that before we all die, before the name Benue is erased, let the world know what and who killed us.
