Introduce Yourself Remake: How we are constantly learning (short advise for Steemit new comers)steemCreated with Sketch.

Fellow Steemians,

We all are a work in progress. Especially myself :)

In my first introduceyourself (https://steemit.com/presentyourself/@martusamak/presenting-myself-martusamak-a-common-man) post I made a crucial mistake. A really noob one: tags!!!I didn't do my homework. Just went on typing. And, as I am sure I was sincere and honest about the content of the post. I didn't get the SteemIt "culture" right. I mean, no attention to tags, no image, and not a really text formatting (although I think that could be less important on a introduce yourself post)

 Now I want to warn the new Steemians, as I am one, to keep some advise in mind when creating material for SteemIt:

  • Don't take it lightly. This tends to be a great community where content (images or words) is important. If you are in just to get rich, just remember that knowledge is the best kind of wealth that you can accumulate;·
  • Do your homework. The way you present you content, the FORM (the formatting, the tags, the lists) should add to the content in itself and help others find it and appreciate it;
  • Be aware of the "pay to get Upvotes" vultures. Probably this third point will get this post flagged [ ;) ] but in the first post two of the coments were about paying in SBD to get Upvotes. Even if it was not a scam, and I did get the upvotes, just remember that SteemIt is about content first and monatisation after. That said...
  • ...We all want to get Upvotes. But don't forget that we all are curators to. So be really honest and fair when Upvoting. You want to get some income from your work here on SteemIt, as we all do, but focus on the comunity and it will end up growing as a snowball. As I hope it will for me :)·
  • And, BTW, don’t forget about politeness and etiquette (https://steemit.com/steemit/@thecryptofiend/the-complete-steemit-etiquette-guide-revision-2-0)

I just hope this reflections on my first experience as an author helps the new Steemians and the Community as a hole.

Yours trully,

Martusamak, a common man
