I totally agree! I'm in the same shoes as an independent filmmaker puzzling over how to handle distribution and actually make money or at least come out even instead of losing it.

One thing I find annoying about DTube though, is that it doesn't merge nicely with Steemit. Like if you want to share a DTube video on Steemit it just looks like a link and doesn't display like when you share from YouTube.
