I know I was very excited for the new Steemit. I still am, just not as much. I have read a few discouraging posts recently but I have faith that eventually things will pan out in favour of the greater community. Keep on keepin on.

I agree! Steemit is for fun and hobby... payouts are a great bonus though! Steemit at the moment is too volatile for me to build a business around it.

Good stuff. It's true, Steem isn't a steady road. I had some very low payouts the last few days, luckily today is good so far.
BUT, to be fair - those of us who are thoughtful about the Steem thing KNOW it's risky.
Personally I use Steem for a large part of my income now, but I have backup gigs. Even if the site went down, I'd be hurt in the short term, but OK overall.
Going all-in on Steem with no backup plan... that would be a VERY bold move.

Have multiple income streams and you never need to be relaint on just one, this is especially important if an income stream is something run by a third party and not something you 100% control.
