The kacip Fatimah, with the scientific name labisia pumila, is a flowering plant of the primrose family that originated in Malaysia.
It is an herbaceous plant with solitary or sparsely branched stems, cottony roots, and usually growing in low clusters.
This plant grows widely in the shade of tropical forest floors. The tree is small and woody, with leaves about 20 cm long.
Traditionally, kacip Fatimah is considered beneficial in inducing labor and treating venereal diseases and flatulence.
