About self-esteem (자존감에 대하여...)

Hi Idle-ant,

Thank you for your post. It is interesting to read your perspective.

I can hear your point of view and to some extend understand it and I would like to complete it or to nuance it with another perspective. Such a statement/arguments I believe is/are based on your personal belief and how you see work and could also be cultural.

My perspective, based on what I may wrongly call "sociological factors" (gender, personal life, education, geography...) is that a worker can say this without having a poor self-esteem. This person can have the choice/freedom to say "no". Maybe not in the US, or in China or other countries though. For example, it is difficult to say no to "extra hours" in the US whereas in Europe the employer must ask, it is not for granted. It says a lot as well on the work relations.

The worker can simply not have the skill or have already too many things to do. Saying "no", if it can be seen as rude in some cultures, is in other the sign of a good self-esteem. Indeed one does not have to accept everything.

There were just few things that came to my mind when I read your post.

I really like the logogram, it is fascinating and quite beautiful in its way.

Have a good weekend!
