There are eleven kinds of native Docks.
PATIENCE DOCK
jaundice.
gentle laxative
ROUND-LEAVED DOCK
dressing blisters
Leaves are often on burns and scalds
SHARP-POINTED DOCK
scurvy
a general blood cleanser
astringent roots a useful infusion against bleedings and fluxes, also with their leaves, a decoction curative of several chronic skin diseases.
THE YELLOW DOCK
laxative
bleedings of the lungs,
scurvy,
scrofula
chronic skin disease
jaundice
scrofulous skin diseases
helps glandular swellings
curing scrofulous skin affections
diphtheria.
RED DOCK
scorbutic disease
eruptive
ulcers and sores
cleans teeth.
GREAT WATER DOCK
used as an antiscorbuti
application for ulcers of the eyes.
