More inputs than outputs

A funny old day today, I needed a break from making my own stuff and instead I've been soaking up other people's art in many forms.

I sat by the river for lunch and watched the world go by. For the first time this year, I felt the warmth of the sun on my skin. The general temperature wasn't warm, there's a chilly breeze, but when the breeze dropped, I remembered Summer.

I saw the Mary Magdelene movie with Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix.

It was in the school of biblical films that does not involve great long quotations of scripture - most of the dialogue in the film is actually contained in the trailer, the rest of it is people walking about while Christ does his healing, some baptisms, oh and a crucifixion, told through long meaningful looks. All to an ambient soundtrack. This makes it sound like I didn't think highly of it. It's not that, I just don't know. I came out in a very calm trance-like space.

When I got home I got a reminder from friend to watch Kaypacha - Astrology for the Soul! I love this guy. He's toadally who I want to be when I grow up.

And now after dinner, we're settling down to watch Pride, the film about Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners, um... supporting the miners in 1985. It's bringing back fond memories. I wasn't part of the Lesbian and Gay scene, but I was active in supporting people in Wales and the Midlands during the strike, it was a really important time. And this is a very funny retelling of it.

So, visually, that's been my day. Back to "normal" tomorrow, perhaps.
