It has been a while since I last posted, so this post is three fold, over the last few days, weeks, there has been our one and only true Presidents Birthday celebration Mandela/Madiba Day, this day has always been a special day for me as it marks not only our presidents day but also one of my most favourite Trail run celebrations.
This year however it was cancelled due to our current situation, so no running took place, very sad about that, but glad we keeping to our lockdown rules.
Reminded me of a time may years ago when I played Djembe drums for him at a special occassion of a friends unique visit by him personally and got to meet him one on one, my expectations were not only met but exceeded by his presence, our country missed him and we all wish he had a little bit longer time to spend on this earht to impart more of his calm wise wisdom to all around him.
I celebrated with some pizza and and evening of celebration in honour of our beloved President Madiba, May his should rest in peace, we love you always. We can only prayer that somehow his influences will shine thoruhg and penetrate the hearts of those he left behind.
I also had a visit from my bestie run buddy after many months of not seeing her, was delighted by an impromptu visit which led us to start planning the imaginings of our next Trail run adventure. love her and the joy we have when speeding through single track trails in the mountains, crossing rivers and traversing mountain peaks in the middle of the KwaZulu rolling hills and soft southern beaches.
Stay safe and healthy everyone, don't forget to wear your masks.
and have fun like George
