Last Sunday was Father’s Day here in Australia, and this was the first Father’s Day I got to celebrate with two kids. It was also the first time I received a hand made card and gift from my son.

It was very touching to read those words on the card and his drawings and writing.

Thanks for that advice. Many others have offered the same advice, and so I've reduced my work days to 3 days per week, and trying to spend as much time with my children as possible. :)

That sounds wonderful, if you can financially afford it. After they reach teenagehood most children begin to pull away from their parents, so you could increase your work days at about that stage. You generally have most influence on children until they start school, so those are the most critical years for establishing your values on them. Once they enter the school system, peers become more important while the parents' position begins to slide.
