My struggle with positivity

Love your self more.
Choose love.
Trust the universe has your back.
Think positively.
Say daily Positive affirmations. ..

I see this encouragement everywhere. I want it to work! But my experience is that it did not... I have really, really tried to love someone more. But you can't make love up. It's either there, or it's not or there. 😐And often the problem is a blockage in the way that needs to be recognized and cleared out so love can flow. .

Before my surrender, I tried everything to 👉🏽think 👈🏽my way around my blockages. My self worth issues. My dark-clenched-guarded-braced-for-impact belly. I could tell myself, with the mind, to "relax and have fun" and "just love yourself more" all fucking day long from my head. But I was unaware that my body, my belly, didn't believe that it was safe and it could not just relax and have fun no matter how many times my mind tried to will it. I had to surrender to the "body-mind", the intelligence of my body located deep in my gut, and dig out/acknowledge my blockages. .

I bring this up because of the plethora of "choose to have a great day", "think positively", "just love more" little memes out there on FB and IG. I think they mean well and they believe this works! Maybe some people have no blockages and so it works for them? But most people that I know are asleep. Asleep to their blockages and asleep to the deeper intelligence of, and disassociated from, the body-mind.

The mind is typically run by the ego. Willpower is its typical method. You can not just willpower your way to loving yourself or someone else more over the resistance of the deepest feelings and beliefs of the gut.
