Been there twice, both times in the winter. That is a great time to beat the crowd. The downside is many trails are closed for safety reasons. And the north rim is closed. Our next trip will be this summer and we will focus on the north rim. I'm sure I'll post about it and I'll try to take some decent photos. Check me out next June if interested in the north rim.
