Positive thinking
The difference between positive thinking and a "victory mentality" is stark, yet often elusive to identify. One example is Napoleon Bonaparte, who rose from humble beginnings as a member of a lowly army commission to become the first Emperor of Europe, ruling over an area the size of the European Union. This charismatic leader was extremely self-disciplined and energetic, but more importantly, he was also a tactical military genius and a highly effective administrator. He was also born in Corsican, which is a location that would most likely identify with extreme positive thinking.
Driven
The difference between the two is that the former lacks the drive and commitment to achieve their goals. They usually quit when they fail or blame others for their failure. They also approach problems in a negative manner and fail to see possibilities in each situation. They focus on risks and dangers instead of opportunities. Consequently, they are not likely to succeed. However, the winners will likely benefit from these traits.
Passionate
The differences between a passionate winner and a passionate loser are often based on a person's passion. A winner has the path figured out for them by the system: they will become doctors, engineers, or managers. The same cannot be said for a loser. In order to find success in a normal job, the passionate loser must find their passion and pursue it. Passion can be anything, and often requires risk-taking, disruptive powers, and team skills.
Focused
If we look at a winner versus a loser, we will find that the winner is a person who is passionate and focused in a particular area. Unlike the loser, who is easily distracted, the winner is driven, eager to learn, and aware of his own limitations. On the other hand, the loser has a tendency to think that he knows what he is doing.
