At a height of 5 feet 2 inches, weighing 72 Kg with a 34 inches waistline attempting to wear a T-shirt and a stretch blouses would show the tires that divided my upper body into sections.
I was short and fat, finding a fashionable fitting attire was like needle in a haystack!
Since slim was chic, I took action to aim at being slim but not necessarily healthy. For example, I took some herbal supplements in an attempt to cut down weight. Indeed, I lost about 3 Kg in two weeks buy phew! When I got a good reason to discontinue taking the supplements, my weight was back an extra five kilo grams.
Enrolled at a gym. I would exercise, lost a bit of weight at quite a slow pace but the worst of all is the fact that I was not aware that, what I was eating during the exercising period was aging my body in the process. At times, after exercising I would feel totally exhausted instead of being re-energized.
I even did a body wrap where I lost a couple of kilos within two weeks but later on added the lost weight in 30 days. I also incorporated G5 diet, toning machines into my usual exercises resulting in unbelievable loss of 11 Kg. I felt quite happy!
My effort to cut down weight was a yoo-yoo (on and off) dependent on what would awaken my weight consciousness. Today I watch ladies and gents on the same struggle and this is partly what has motivated me to share with you how I lost weight and kept it off.
I stopped to lose weight and started gaining health
Understanding that overweight is a condition which clearly portrays that we are sick changed my way of thinking. Of course, I also learnt that being slim does not mean you are healthy. You can be slim but also having an unhealthy body. Most thin people have a higher metabolic rate than their obese pals whose advantage may (not) last long at the advantage of other body organs if one is not eating healthy.
The following are secrets to a healthy lifestyle to wade off obesity:
1.Cleansing the colon
Excess weight is mainly as a result of an accumulation of foods consumed and the body is not able to assimilate or eliminate efficiently. This accumulation maybe out of excessive consumption of certain non-supportive foods or even little consumption of certain foods or substances the body is incapable of breaking down and putting to use.
The first step I took was to cleanse my system. I first cleansed my colon using hydro-colonic.
Some of us carry up to 10-15 Kg of dirt in our colon. Today there is affordable and simple colon cleansing methodologies. for example, one can use colax herbal supplements or hooconstipin combined with vegetable juices like aloe vera, karela or arrowroot and sesame seeds.
If you want to manage your weight, you need to be cleansing your colon at least every six months in a year or one day in a week using juices.
2.Detoxify the system and keep off foods with chemicals
Fats store chemical toxin and are a big contributor to excess weight. Although we adjust well to a changing environment, exposure to harmful chemicals is now occurring at a rate faster then the human body is able to adopt. Chemicals overload our body organs especially the liver hence affecting its detoxification effectiveness.
Once the liver is overwhelmed by the detox work due to chemical loading, it passes some of its work to the kidney. The performance of these organs is affected once they are over laden with toxins. Most of these toxins find their way into our bodies in form of food preservatives, additives, fertilizers and the liver is absolutely incapable rid it all out of the body systems. These toxins remain and accumulate in the body in form of fat.
When I learnt this, I joined a detox program of vegetable juices and wheat-grass. This is a process whereby I would drink fresh vegetable juices and fruit juices. Once the body starts releasing these toxins, the weight loss is tremendous.
I also started eating foods free of chemicals, additives or preservatives and this was the beginning of pure health foods. Consistent detoxification of the body organs by taking fresh vegetable juices and eating chemical-free foods gives the body less work hence having extra energy to sweep any trapped fats in our body system.
3.Cleansing the body sewer systems
Even as you eat foods free of chemicals and cleanse your colon, you need to have the rubbish and toxins flushed out of your body system.
I drank 3 litres of water in a day. Today I take about 8 glasses! for maintenance.
Excess fat requires to be swept out of the system and the most effective way is taking 3 litres of water daily. Do not worry, just keep urinating. every time you urinate you flush out a few grains of fats which could otherwise harden your arteries.
4.Eat live foods
The difference between live foods and dead foods is like light and darkness. When we cook foods above 190C, most of the enzymes and medicinal value dies. In vegetables 80% of the nutritional values may die consequently affecting the vitamins and minerals.
The megahertz in the food is highly compromised such that instead of the food giving you energy, it instead steals energy from you.
When I served foods, I put at least 50% being vegetables salads dressed with salad seasoning and cold pressed sunflower oil. This meal would be 25% shallow cooked vegetables and the other 25% being whole grain meals like brown rice or tubers like arrowroot. Live foods give energy to the body to cleanse, rebuild and rejuvenate itself. You therefore, loose weight and rejuvenate the cells making you look younger by the day.
5.Eat and drink cold pressed oils
Cholesterol is an essential fat made by liver. Our bodies require cholesterol because it is the building blocks of cells, vitamins and hormones especially sex hormones.
It is transported in the body through the blood stream by lipoproteins. High density lipoproteins (HDL) are good as they move cholesterol away fro artery walls and back to the liver. They are found in cold pressed oils or uncooked seeds. Low density cholesterol (LDL) on the other hand, keep cholesterol circulating in the blood, causing arteries to become clogged with fatty deposits.
Heated oils, hydrogenated fats, saturated fats and margarine form plaque in our body systems especially arteries. Furthermore, these type of oils make the cell membrane very rigid hance making flushing out of toxins or excess fats close to impossible.
This in turn interprets to excess fat!
To take care of this, I drunk 1 teaspoon of cold pressed oil everyday and used this kind of oil for salad dressing and cooking. when one takes the good cholesterol found in cold pressed oils, the body immediately starts to release the bad fats (LDL cholesterol) which is held by body in form of plaque.
Always remember, our bodies require oil for self lubrication and protection. When you drink cold pressed oils, the cell membrane gets lubricated improving metabolism a condition which leads to efficient flushing out of toxins resulting to loss of weight.
