Now for Part 2:


The difference between two numbers is represented as

a - b or b - a.

For example:


The difference between two numbers is 7. If the larger number is w, write an expression for the smaller number.



Since the difference between two numbers is 7, then the larger number minus the smaller number is equal to 7.
Now, we need to find an expression for the smaller number:



Now try:

The difference between two numbers is 12. If the smaller number is x, write an expression for the smaller number.
