Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Processor SoC

Today I will be explaining you about The latest processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.

The Snapdragon 845 is the successor of the flagship Snapdragon 835 that we will found in almost every flagship Android phone like Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, Google Pixel 2, Xiomi Mi6, Expreria X2, and Oneplus 5.

Snapdragon 845 will be the flagship Processor for 2018 Android phone and the devices which use Snapdragon 845 processor are: Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus Xiaomi MI 8, Samsung Galaxy note 9, Xiaomi MI Mix 2S, Asus zenfone 5Z, LG G7 ThinQ, Oneplus 6 and so on. This is still an Octa Core processor just like the Snapdragon 835.

It is divided in to two parts that is to 2 Quad core parts, one is the powerful quad core that is based on the Arm cortex A75 architecture and the other quad core which is more power efficient is based on the Arm cortex A55 architecture This processor is powered by new GPU that is the Adreno 630 GPU and according to Qualcomm, they are claiming about 25% to 30% improvements in terms of performance and also in terms of power efficiency. These chips are supposed to consume about 20% - 30% less power compared to the Snapdragon 835 counterpart.

Hexagon 685 DSP:

Being built on the 10 nanometer technology most efficient as of now, they will be built on that. Apart from that, they also have a new improved DSP which is "Hexagon 685" and this will help this chip in better image processing. Artificial intelligence processing is about 3 times faster which is the new big Buzz world because Apple with its A11 Bionic Chip is doing that. So they claim that photographs that do artificial bokeh for example the Google Pixel does that can be achieved using this chip. Even Face unlocking features will be more smoother and can be accomplished a lot better with this chip. Thanks to the Hexagon 685 chip that it has.

10 Bit Colour:

It also has a new spectra image signal processor which can process 10 bit colour. So their pictures will have a lot more depth. But it depends upon manufacturer to manufacture the devices to accordingly to implement these processes. In terms of slow motion, Qualcomm was claiming that it can do slow motion up to 480 frames per second but this is at 720P. Ultra slow motion can be accomplished and other than the older Snapdragon 835 also supported 4K video playback even with HDR but the Snapdragon 845 will allow you to record 4K HDR video. Thanks to that 10 bit colour. These are some of the improvements that you can expect and apart from that the depth photography should be a lot easier on this.

Qualcomm Quick Charge 4:

This will also support quick charge It is powered by Qualcomm quick charge 4 and this will also be compatible with the USB standard and according to Qualcomm, with Qualcomm quick charging for a device can be charged up to 50% in 15 minutes. (These are the theoretical figures but again this is what producers claim about)

Better Connectivity:

This chipset will support 5G speed and also it has improved wi-fi. It will support wifi according to the AD Standard (Again the manufacturer has to ensure his hardware is compatible for these features) Gigabyte Wi-Fi speeds are supported with this chip. It has improved Bluetooth 5 for support so it can simultaneously broadcast to two bluetooth devices (Bluetooth 5 explained: Apple Bluetooth earpods which has receivers on both of its earpods, in this case the device sends the bluetooth signals for both earpods simultaneously. Earlier this was sent to the first earpod and that earpod sent the signal to another earpod) Again it's up to the vendors to enable this functionality to improve Bluetooth 5 functionality.

So overall we can expect improved performance with this processor about 25% with its performance and at least 20% in power efficiency.
