....... is a most common statement made by so many people who are nearing the very old age group. At least this is what I hear over and over again. The latest was during a chat with a lovely old friend in her late 70's. Her name is Mary, a busy and active person who is most kind, giving and always happy.
Sometimes, when I am chatting to an old friend I I hear a quiet little whisper, "I still feel the same as I was in the 20's!" It is like the sharing a big secret, the secret of being forever young. Funnily enough, I completely understand because there is a a very young Angie Mitchell inside me too.
Why does this happen? Perhaps the feelings of the heart and the logic of the mind are immune to the slowing down of cell regeneration in the ageing body. People who retain their mental capabilities are able to continue to think and feel regardless of their age.
Perhaps there is a spiritual explanation, that we are really eternal beings on earth to live and learn over one lifetime after another before our physical bodies die. Our souls also known as our spirit leaves our bodies to go over to the other side for a rest. The we choose to live another life on earth or another planet with prearranged lessons and tests.
Maybe my interest in spiritual topics is taking over my imagination. There are many examples of people recounting past lives and the other side during regressive hypnotherapy sessions.
It is all supposing but the books I read give plausible explanations. Dolores Cannon is one such author who wrote 17 books on her clients experiences in deep trances. One book is called "Conversations With A Spirit - Between Death and Life."
It is up to each individual to believe whatever they choose, what fits right for them. But for me, I am sure that there is a bigger universal picture that I am are part of. The big downside is not remembering. We just do the best we can by living a good life.
Cheers and blessings
Always a fascinating topic. My ninety year old grandmother says the same thing, only the age disrupts some thought processes, such as being a lot more fearful. How interesting to be 90 and feel 20.

It must be a joyful feeling, only you cannot party all night as you use to, haha.

Howdy angiemitchell! I think the main positive is that we are spirit beings and our earthly death doesn't mean the end of us because obviously the spirit and mind don't age.
