Why is it Important to Learn Logic and Understand Fallacy?

in mindset •  6 years ago

Hello again, dear Steemians!

In our everyday life, we use argument and logic to express our opinions or react to other people’s ideas and values.

What we know as common sense is the combination of our aptitude for thought and our ability to reason with proof and evidence.

But reason and logic are not easy to come by. In fact, the knowledge of logic is not something inherently hardwired into our brains, and one must seek the wisdom on his own to rid his life of fallacious beliefs or avoid falling into the trap and mischief of other people with whom he interacts.

Our mind is subject to mistake and prejudice. It is quite difficult to think in an unbiased way in the modern landscape of the world and our society in general.

That is why we are more than often mistaken with our beliefs and ideals without even recognizing the erroneous pattern of our thinking.

This is where fallacy comes in. Fallacy is any faulty reasoning or invalid train of thought in a construction of an argument. Fallacy is often deceptive, because it appeals to our sense of prejudice and compels us to see everything from a single viewpoint.

Here is a simple example used to teach about fallacious ways:

“John is different from David.
David is a man.
Thus, John is different from a man.”

image1.jpg
img src

What you saw above was an over-simplified example of fallacy. Now imagine if our complex thought patterns about universal truths were erroneous or somehow misguided. What sort of life would we live then?

Fallacy comes in many forms. Another common type of fallacy is using the bitterness of language to disregard one’s claims supported by logic. For instance, you make a claim with a proof.

A person who disagrees with you out of his own prejudice or benefits will claim that your argument is absurd, but fails to show evidence that supports his claim.

His influence on the other people present in the room, or the way with which he puts his words forward will eventually lead everyone to side with him.

That is a common fallacious move used in many arguments around the world.

The world of logic and rhetoric is massive and undeniably complex.

But if you give yourself the chance to study it, you will notice fallacy on the spot and use arguments to counter it and turn the tide of the situation to your advantage.

No one could deny that our thought is dismissive of logic because of our feelings and our emotions.

By learning logic, you will inadvertently put yourself in a better situation in life and make sure that no one takes advantage of your mind; an organism mingled with errors.

Logic is indeed a pathway to a better and more mature understanding of the universe and the laws that govern it.

A BIG HUG!

When we ask this question quickly comes to mind Why one hits one on his brain falls Mttaq logic! The logic is defined as the study of images of thought and the proper reasoning methods, and that the science based on mental laws leads to correct judgments. When one says: "It makes sense when one is described as a logical person, , And it is said that the logic of the matter, that is, he thought and decided in a logical manner, in a sound, rational and non intrusive.

It is not meant to learn logic is to study the course that is called logic and determined to students in different years of study, which students hate studying often and not for the tests and grades for what they studied, but what I put here is to learn the logic that changes the way you think and your judgment and your view of things, As a way of life and way of thinking, and before giving you some sources that you can begin to learn the logic of them let me arouse a little to learn by offering some of the benefits that will come back to you or some of what you will gain when learning logic

Anyone who learns logic can learn anything! Scientists consider logic to be at the top of science or the source from which science branches branches of human sciences (such as philosophy, psychology, sociology, etc.), natural sciences (such as physics, chemistry, etc.), which is "logical" in itself! Imagine simply that anyone who thinks about any science should think in a logical way. Otherwise, what he is thinking about is not true. It is also classified as a abstract science with mathematics, so it benefits you and makes it easier for you to learn any science from science. And any skill skills especially the sciences that rely on it mainly such as computer science, mathematics, physics and others.

Excellent review, my friend and you are right, only logic gives us an understanding of what is happening in our life and on our way to the goal. It allows us to soberly assess our capabilities and rethink our mistakes, which of course makes logic an irreplaceable quality in the way of achieving our goals and dreams! Thank you @chbartist

Oh yes @chbartist, I completely agree with you, logic is the best skill that can be very useful in analyzing what is happening, identifying errors and problems, with a view to further solving them. If we set ourselves certain goals, then logic is the best assistant for us!

logic Some information obtained by the human does not need to the realization of thought and the organization of intellectual processes, but once faced with this thing recognizes and knows and derive, knowing that one half of the two, and this information called the necessary information.

important post for logic For example, let's say that a person comes from a place where they know nothing about Assad, he does not know the meaning of the word Assad, he hears you talking about Assad, he can not imagine Assad and understand his meaning. He asks: "What is Assad?" He is told, , He knows it

Logic: A legal machine that keeps its mind in mind

It is an automated science that is used as a tool and a means to serve another science. It knows how to arrange the information that is present and stored in order to reach unknown unknown things.

Our need for logic
However, we note that this rational intellectual does not always affect, he may make mistakes in his perception and perception of things and concepts, or make mistakes in transmitting them to others. For example, he may ask something that makes a voice and responds knowing that it is a car Engine the hearer thinks it is a motorcycle, the origin of this error is the incorrect definition of that specific thing

It is not enough to learn the questions of logic to keep the mind from the error in thought, but it is necessary to observe the rules of logic and apply them correctly when needed to protect his mind.

Man needs to learn logical rules and observe them even in other sciences to understand or solve their issues and issues.

So called logic science "science server.

Thank you so much boss for yet another wonderful and insightful piece. Am always awe inspired whenever I peruse your posts. You are an authority. Good and great day, I wish you. Kindly add @bernard4ve to the list of contributors to this community.

Those who learn logic become able to think correctly:

Greetings friend @chbartist!

Common sense has to do with the ability to judge facts according to experiences and social relationships, without taking into account the studies carried out. It is about applying popular wisdom or street education.

It is a type of unwritten rules, where often the applied improvisation generates new creations and innovations, as well as situations of risk.

The best thing before carrying out an activity in which we do not know the rules, is to document the applicable guidelines, in order to reduce the level of risk that an unforeseen event may occur.

Good day!

мне нравится пост. С меня подписка лайк и репост

We need to learn the logic of logic for himself and himself as we learn the questions of jurisprudence:

Anyone who has studied logic makes no mistake in thinking

Law of right thinking, "logic will teach you that everything has a rule, a specific way, or specific ways you should behave to reach something or a goal.

The logic is that A legal machine is protected by the mind of its owner about error and error

Here are some courses, courses and books where you can begin to learn logic correctly, and you have the brunt of finding more and more books and resources that suit you

**By learning logic, you will inadvertently put yourself in a better situation in life and make sure that no one takes advantage of your mind; an organism mingled with errors.
Logic is indeed a pathway to a better and more mature understanding of the universe and the laws that govern it. **

These lines are very meaningful and carry a bigger message. Lots to learn from you @chbartist have a great day.

Its important to learn logic and understand fallacy because they're vital to our will.
It all start with the mind. Our thought is so important because this is where our lives are leading us. We need to have a good and strong will in order to conquer the unnecessary things that are distracting our purpose.

I find it amazing how often bad decisions are made due to poor use or ignorance of logic! While many seek pure facts before acting, logic assists in the ability to take it the next step higher to make decisions.

Greetings dear @chbartist.

No one could deny that our thought is dismissive of logic because of our feelings and our emotions.

This is almost inevitable. I think it's part of our nature. Survival instinct maybe. We give priority to what comes from our inside. We overestimate our feelings and emotions. That's why we give priority.

But the logic ... the logic we learn it, we develop it. It is not instinctive.

The fallacy can have two origins in my opinion: The "innocent", which is committed out of ignorance. And the intentional one.

The latter is a despicable action of the human being, since the only objective is manipulation. It can become a
valuable tool for those who make deception their greatest virtue. Developing subtle gestures and actions that may go unnoticed at the beginning but which are actually very persuasive.

All best, Piotr.

Reteeming this for my logical thinkers! Great article as always, but this time, the comments section is very interesting! Can’t really add anymore than has already been said... well, except maybe just be cool, be real, always abide and think logically... you know my motto!

Dear cbhartist!!
Very happy to see that you are going write about logic, i also write on it on steemit, because its very crutial think for our life. Without logic we just can find out appropiate one for us.

Man is a good lawyer for their fault and good judge for other . When we do some mistakes then we start our logic to prove it that I am right . And it is not inherit ,we learn it by ourself and by our surrounding . But argument is a conflict version , which I think can not harm logic . And it is good also if we have logic of everything but it should be fit over there . Otherwise it will show your oversmart character. Great @ chbartist

Growing up, I liked to think that I could think logically. Then I taught myself how to code. Holy cow. A different type of logic, sure, but debugging code forces you to think in a set pattern. That pattern seems good for deconstructing arguments and identifying disconnects.

The second thing that happened is that I was told by a co-worker that 'they pay us to pay attention'. Attention to detail is massively important. That, combined with thinking in a structure manner, has gotten me to really think about a lot these days.

It's almost like I am reworking out the universal truths again. Minds are strange....

Believe yourself and study you will find idea of stopping counter

Apart from reading or talking about any knowledge logically, or just talking about it, our consciousness is definitely affected.

What a piece @chbartist. Resteemed.

“John is different from David.
David is a man.
Thus, John is different from a man.”

Perfect simplistic example, unfortunately, most think this way.

Intelligence doesn't equate to wisdom.

Thinking logically is better than emotional, logic helps us distinguish the better think for us and can make it higher.

@chbartist, We have to deep dive into the subject before holding the tight beliefs because beliefs in a way control our actions and it's important to hold the right beliefs so that we can stay on the right path of development. Stay blessed. 🙂

@chbartist yaa it is important to learn logic and under understand fallacy. Because only then we can apply logic when we will be familiar with fallacy .
@ankitjnv

And logic comes from the culture we grow up and the surroundings we get. Evolution and generations of lives after lives make what you are today. It is not only from this life that is impacting your ability make logic, but that includes inter-generational and multi-life layers. The whole concept is well explained in Hinduism, which is considered primitive. Whereas, genesis of knoweldge of logics starts in the ancient scripts of Hinduism.

Good! хороший пост. автору спасибо есть что почитать....

Great article, the first step to get a better relashionship with the people is to know that nobody is right.

LOGIC is like typing in a calulation on a calculator, it doesn't matter what you type it will always give you an answer.
You need to decide if its worth for you and than (if you want it or not) can take advantage from it.

like you cros

good morning,

That is why you have to study, is the knowledge, which will provide us, the options of not falling into fallacies, or lies, is the knowledge, which will allow us, determine at what time the things they tell us, are true or false, and is the knowledge, which will allow us to be free, and act in a rational manner, as to any fallacy that could be presented, on that path called life

Sin duda como escribiste, hay que tomar la suficiente consciencia para cambiar primeramente uno, y asumir las responsabilidades de nuestros actos para poder buscar y trabajar por un mundo menos falaz.
