Financial Dependence or Independence ?

in money •  7 years ago

Financial Dependence or Independence is a very hot topic of debate. Not all of all want to be independent and same goes  for being dependenct. Being financial independent has its own benefits but everything comes with a cost. It seems like an easy way to live life by being independent but it actually isn’t. I am not saying that financial independence is a bad thing, actually it varies from person to person and what they want to achieve in their lives. I am referring to a job person as a dependent person as he/she is completely dependent on its salary. When it comes to financial dependence it has got a lot of intangible benefits that we forget to see.

Financial Independence makes you a God but of your own world

The biggest benefit I see in being independent is that you have complete control of your financial fate in your own hand. You will be working only for yourself without worrying about others and no dependency at all. It makes you more responsible and disciplined. There are side effects of all these benefits that is in the initial stages you have got to be really hard working and take stress. There is financial benefits at the cost of intangible benefits.

Dependency dominates when it comes to Intangible Benefits

Being a job person makes you financially dependent on a company but it has got some great intangible benefits that I love. It helps you to enjoy benefits in early stages that would have happened in the late stages. The biggest benefit of being financial dependent is you only need to work for only limited number of hours in a week and weekend is all yours to do what you want to do.

Choosing an Hybrid Approach

I find it the best way to live your life. The hybrid word basically means a part of both financial dependence and independence. I love to work in this way. Doing a job along with side business is a great way to combine the benefits of both and leaving behind the bad things and scenarios that might happen in both of the cases. Personally, I am a JavaScript Developer (JOB) and a blogger, crypto trader and a gamer (Independent work). In this way you can create a separate line between the things that you want to have in your life.

Isn't true financial independence only accomplished through elimination of all expenses? For example, living in the mountains in a cabin you built, with a natural artesian well that does not require electricity, growing/ and raising all your necessary food.
Many think of financial independence as having so much money you can do all you want, but really, even if you had millions or billions of dollars, you are still dependent upon the value of that money. If all your money is in stocks, the stock market could crash. If it is all in cash, the money could devalue to nothing (Zimbabwe 100 trillion dollar notes). If it is in assets, they could be stolen, or rust or be replaced by new technology.
Contrary to popular belief, a nomad in the African bush is truly financially independent, not the millionaire Wall Street tycoon.
Thoughts, anyone?

I agree with you but we are talking about things by keeping certain things invariable. Otherwise, it won't be possible to predict anything. I totally appreciate your comment.

Have a great weekend

Thank you :)

Nice content. True talk. I call it financial freedom, you are in control of your life. You having time for your family, health etc is the essence of life. Be the boss of yourself. And become an entrepreneur to be financially free.

Totally agree with you. I appreciate your comment.

Nice post bro. Very interesting

Thank you :)

You're wellcome bro. Nice can visite your blog

It's hard to admit that we are all slaves to money even though we work hard there's always some overlord that chips away at earnings until we become disillusioned. Enter crypto . The beginning of a new era.

Very well said. Likewise thinking. Totally appreciate it.

Even though I'm still a student, I prefer to choose the "hybrid" way. In what job you currently working, @funnyman?

Likewise man!

Awesome post. Depending others means survising others. Thanks Upvoted.

Thank you so much. Totally appreciate it.

Most welcome.

I think this is one of the main questions society is working through now... hence the crypto rise.

LOLx. Nice one.

Whether we call it independent, dependence or freedom we are all still slave to money. We still have to work for it, earn it or find it somewhere and somehow, without money we cannot do anything.

True but Intangible benefits are different in these cases.

I do both as well and I find both sides rewarding as you said. Also o believe freedom is rather a state of mind than an actual target. Good article.

Thank you so much :)

Yes... Im agree about it.

Thank you man!
