Lunar eclipse is a special astronomical phenomenon. When the moon moves to the shadow part of the earth, the area between the moon and the earth will be missing because the sun is covered by the earth. The sun, the earth, the moon right now (or almost) are in the same line. The lunar eclipse eclipse can be divided into three kinds, and the total lunar eclipse penumbral lunar eclipse. The lunar eclipse can only occur before and after the lunar calendar fifteen.
The earth has a shadow in the direction of the sun, called the earth shadow. Shadow is divided into two parts of umbra and penumbra. Umbra refers to not subject to direct sunlight, and it is only partially penumbra of the sun's light. The moon sometimes enters the earth's shadow during its orbit around the earth, which produces a lunar eclipse. When the moon enters umbra, will happen but if only a part of total lunar eclipse; eclipse, eclipse occurs only. Total lunar eclipse and eclipse is eclipse umbra.
