Better than the original?

To be honest I can't really see as I haven't seen the original, but I have talked to a few people that have.

They both said the same thing, this one is better.

Some of the story:

The film stars Bruce Willis as a surgeon who has done just about everything right in his life.

He's followed all the rules, raised his family right, and done his best to save as many lives as possible along the way via his medical profession.

However, one night, his birthday never the less, things go south in a major way.

As he is preparing for sugery on his next patient, 2 people get rushed to the hospital that he is told he is not allowed to operate on...

He has never heard that and being that he is the best surgeon in the building he knows something is up.

Shortly after he is informed that the 2 patients are his wife and daughter.

They had both been shot earlier that night.

Apparantly while he was at work a home invasion took place.

It was supposed to be a robbery on the rich surgeon and his family, but it went wrong and both girls ended up getting shot as the burglars scrambled to get away.

What ensues is what any man would be thinking and feeling in that situation.

Feeling like the police aren't doing their job to catch the bad guys he decides to take matters into his own hands.

We have all seen and heard these types of stories before, but this film was able to keep it fresh and interesting.

Overall, it is well worth the watch and I was pleasantly surprised by it.

The film gets a 9 out of 10 rating by me.

Not much it could have done better, but 10's are hard to get from this guy.

The remake of Death Wish is a fascinating example of how we see the world and how we have changed since the original in 1974.
