[KR/EN][V.O.영화보기] #6 박찬욱 - 싸이보그지만 괜찮아 I'm A Cyborg But That's OK, 2006

기계적 인간은 예술 작품의 단골 소재중 하나입니다. 어떤 목적을 위해 인간성을 포기하고 기계적인 행동만 하는 캐릭터는 모던타임즈의 나사공이나 설국열차에서 여자의원으로도 등장합니다. 일본 애니메이션세계에서는 어떤 대상이던지 꾸미는 것이 가능합니다. 심지어 기생충까지도 예쁜 캐릭터로 변환시킬수 있습니다. 이런 기계적으로 변해버린 인간들도 영화에서 예쁘게 꾸밀수 있습니다.

영군(임수정 분)은 정신외적으로는 전자제품조립라인에서 기계라고 세뇌되었고 정신내적으로는 할머니와 우정을 버리지 못해 자유할수 없는 고장난 사이보그입니다. 일순(정지훈 분)은 가벼운 절도죄의 핵폭탄같은 판결로 인해 소멸될까 두려워 다른사람의 특기를 훔치고 다니는 그래서 다른사람의 병적인 요소를 훔친 순간만큼은 그들을 치유해주는 정신수리공입니다.

이 영화의 세계에서 정신병자들은 나름의 이야기를 가지고 있어서 오히려 이야기가 없거나 제한된 의료진이 비정상으로 보일 지경입니다. 의료진들은 환자들을 신사적으로 대하고 참을성있게 들어주고 필요한 처치도 하지만 결국엔 치료의 대상으로 본다는 점에서 영군에게 하얀맨으로써 총살대상이 되는 것입니다. 그들은 자신들이 이상하다고 생각하지 않으므로 치료의지가 없기 때문입니다. 이런 환자들에겐 정신수술자보다 주술사가 필요할것 같군요.

일순이 본의아니게 영군에게서 동정심을 훔쳐오는 순간, 둘은 자유로워지고, 우리는 눈에 보이지 않지만 실재하는 마음의 교환을 관찰할수 있게됩니다. 다시말해 남녀의 사랑이야기로 예쁘게 묘사된 무당의 굿 한마당으로 볼 수 있겠습니다.

Mechanical human being is one of the classic materials of art works. Characters who give up humanity for a certain purpose and perform only mechanical actions appear as factory workers in Modern Times or as lady parliamentarians in Snowpiercer. In the Japanese animation world, it is possible to decorate any object. Even parasites can be converted into pretty characters. This kind of mechanically transformed human beings can be beautifully decorated in movies.

Young-goon (Lim Soo-jung) is a malfunctioning cyborg that is psychologically brainwashed as a machine in the assembly line of electronic products and can not freely abandon friendship with grandmother. Il-soon(Jung Ji-hoon) is a psychic repairer who steals other people's skills and feels that they are going to die because of a nuclear bomb-like judgment of mild stealing.

In the world of this movie, psychopaths have their stories, so there is no story or limited medical staff is seen as abnormal. The medical staff treats the patients gently and patiently, and takes necessary measures, but eventually becomes a target of machine gun. Because they do not think they are strange, they do not have the will to care. I think these patients will need a shaman than a psycho.

As Il-soon steals her sympathy from Young-goon unintentionally, the two become free and we observe an exchange of invisible but real minds. In other words, it can be seen as a magical act of a shaman who is portrayed beautifully in love stories of men and women.
