That's a very interesting question. To a certain extent you could say they're already watching you through a glass screen. In a (possible, even probable) posthuman future I think invisible design will become the new standard, and tech will merge with humanity. It's already happening. In this perspective there's no need for a screen, because we will have ubiquitous neural laces, e-telepathy and inter-brain-nets. The necessity for a physical support will fade away. With the rise of many-to-many e-telepathy-based networks, new form of subjective experiences will become available and the homo sapiens will be no longer.
Regarding who will win between robots and humans, my guess is that there will be a merge, not a conflict. Or maybe, as you could reply, that will be exactly AI's strategy to take over humankind: faking a merge.
Have you read Homo Deus, by Yuval Harari? It covers this topic a lot. I haven't yet, but can't wait - I just ordered it yesterday :)
