Researchers at the Institute of Photonic Sciences of Castelldefels, have developed portable devices capable of monitoring multiple vital signs or exposure to UV radiation.

The technologies used today, which use non-flexible components, do not offer the desired accuracy and can only be used to measure some vital signs.

To provide the necessary flexibility and precision, two types of nanomaterials are used: graphene, a highly flexible and transparent material, and a light-absorbing layer made of quantum dots.

With this they can measure pulsations, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation, as well as exposure to the sun's UV radiation.

This is much cooler than the super hard asphalt we talked about two days ago, isn't it?.
