Tortoise and the Hare VS. Steemit

I don't usually see Turtles coming across the front yard . It does happen here and there . First one this year . Can you imagine how long it must take him to cross from one side to the other .
I watched this turtle making its way across the yard as I sat there drinking a cup of coffee . I saw a couple of rabbits going about their business in the same vicinity . It got me thinking about the turtles journey . Being that I was sitting there thinking of how to do a better job on Steemit . The two seem to have merged into what I believe to be strategies.

The rabbits can sprint across the yard in no time at all . We all know about the race between the Tortoise and the Hare .

I take my time for many personal reasons . As a result I spend an enormous amount of time on Steemit . More time than most people can afford too due to work , raising a family and other reasons . I am not saying that I am more productive then those spending less time on Steemit . On the contrary , most people can produce and be more productive than I in a shorter time . We all have our drawbacks and disadvantages or advantages .

I like the Tortoise am slow . Moving in a straight line with an objective or place that I want to get to . It will take time maybe a long time but I will get there . I like the Tortoise will make comments and post consistently moving ever so slow , but not like the Hare who sprints .

The Hare will run quick but in spurts . Its objective or destination might be the same but with a different approach . The Hare will stop and go in different direction weaving back and forth with constant stopping and going . making many comments and posts over a short period of time then nothing until the next sprint .

I am not saying that one or the other or even a combination of the two is bad or good . Just that these are two or three different ways people interact with Steemit . Just some thoughts that went through my mind as I was doing some self reflection as a turtle made its way past my view . And I might add slowly real slowly .

Now this guy had to get his two cents in there too . Have you heard the one about The Princess and the Frog

Its more then likely a female and she is looking to lay her eggs. Normally red ear slidders and yellow belly water turtles dont leave the water for too long unless to lay the clutch 🐢🧡💛 watch for babies in a few months 💚🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢🐢

little baby turtles running around would be a nice thing

I like this strategy - "slow but steady"
It might not win us the race but it will get us to our target. People say that in the end target is the only thing that matters. I say sure, we'll get there but let's enjoy the ride too.

It also gives us time to learn as we go and adapt . I believe it the way to go until we get a firm grasp on the total picture of what we are doing

While the rabbit makes it faster, the turtle gets to see so much more on his slow journey. He gets to take his time and check out his surroundings. I, personally, would take that over quickness any day!

you and me both . we get a better picture of our surroundings / environment .

Yep - I've seen lots of people who have started after me, but seem to get to a high degree of success in a short time.

Oftentimes though, they have put a lot of real money into it (fair enough) or they have been buying votes the whole way through - or they were simply lucky to find a whale to help support them early on.

My strategy has been like yours, simply to produce regular, high-quality content and let people discover me! Discord has made a huge difference there, I must say - as well as some of the minnow initiatives such as newbieresteemday and payitforward.

well we all take our own path . one that might work for one may not work for another . What I do know is that one has to build a good foundation or no matter what you do will collapse

good result entry moment of animal photography, this photo very fun 😁 slow move mode on, good job Sir, why dont use #animalphotography, you have good photo animal Sir

Usually do use that tag but I wanted to support the ones I used .
thanks my friend , "😁 slow move mode on"

heheee..you have good commite😁👍

I think I tend towards the hare. Not by design, but due to fact my post time is limited to random bits of the days. However, I'm going to try to start to write posts over many days, to try and draft my ideas... Maybe that will work better?

I think most people are tortoises. Because of the time restraint . Life , work and commitments have to be done . That doesn't leave time for much more . Consistency is the key whether its 1 hour every two days or less as long as one can stay with it over time it will pay off . The tortoise if nothing else is consistent where the hare is all over the place and consistency is not in the plan

Ah, yes, I guess if you put it like that. Then it is the consistency that is the turtle part. I was thinking more of the one or so hour that I have to write a post, and in that stage, it is fast fast fast!

Beep! Beep! This humvee will be patrolling by and assisting new veterans, retirees, and military members here on Steem. @shadow3scalpel will help by upvoting posts from a list of members maintained by @chairborne and responding to any questions replied to this comment.

I love turtles, and that fellow is particularly handsome! Great analogy, too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts...I'm more turtle than rabbit, I think. All in its own good time, and let the rest just roll off the old shell!

LOL did not think about the hard shell . paying attention to what matters and leave the garbage behind

I love this whole idea.. We just need to take our time slow and steady; we'll definitely get to our destination

Take things as they come . easier not to get distracted or discharged :)

That's right

In silver and gold stacking, slow and steady wins the race! I love this excellent post, and enjoyed your article very much! Thank you. I upvoted this article in spirit. I am dangerously low of VP at 39%, LOL!

There you go .LOL I will give you back in sprite and above the dust . :) Slow and steady and you will not miss anything

Great post. I feel more like the baby giraffe. Need to get up and run as fast as I can as soon as I can.

Trying to turn or stop is crazy fun for others to watch. But I will get the hang of this one day. Good thing there are whales here and not lions. lol

LOL the giraffe is funny to watch trying to control that neck . I am still trying to figure things out .every time I figure something out 2-3 things pop up that I have no idea about . But it is interesting

That's my strategy too. I do not have the luxury to investing tens of thousands into Steem as some do. I missed out on the initial mining (not that I have the knowledge to have taken advantage if I had been there when it happened, lol). But each day is another opportunity for me to build another brick towards the structure I desire. Another chance to build up those in my growing circle as the magic of this is the community one is in growing together. Just like as a kid I thought I would never reach the age of an adult, then one day I was here. Now time keeps going quicker, lol.

I know the turtle was used to drive the point home, but have to add this. My mom had a turtle for years in her back yard. We would feed it lettuce. He normally spent his time under the shed, but when he would come out to eat, he would circle the whole back yard to get to her patio. It took him forever. But when he was done eating, he would take the direct path back to the shed instead of circling the yard. Not sure why, maybe he enjoyed the scenery on his way to dine, lol.

lol I had one I kept as a kid in the house . damn thing would go all over . had him a long time
It takes a while to get things here . I usually say one step at a time but that turtle surprised me this morning and the rabbits jumping around put it all together
