I bought coated pots as well. I also had a relative scrub them until they shined. Arnold you manage to always tell a story so well.
An informative narrative.
Even in the midst of such a tale I can visualise your dad toiling away for hours removing every last bit of that coating. I think my mother IL did that job on ours.
Some coatings are said to be toxic too now, especially once they are scratched or scoured. We have switched again to Stainless Steel.
As for tinnitus it has so many possible causes. Maybe even the cranial nerves are compressed due to your condition. An Mri or CT scan would be ideal to get an idea of what is involved. Even an X-ray if possible.

The pot I bought has this said to be more safe, a stone coated non-stick pan that I believed to be father-proof, I was wrong, my father just scrubbed it to shine again.
Stainless steel is one of the best. I was planning then to buy a cast iron but it needs to be "seasoned" first but I bet that it will get scrubbed to shine again :/
I will never buy any cookware tho since I cannot possibly cook anymore.
I guess any toxin that cannot be removed by dialysis is the culprit of my tinnitus plus some pain medicine that I take too.
I would soon get a head x-ray maybe or a scan, I don't know how I can send a copy for you @girlbeforemirror

If they cannot give you a digital copy maybe you can take pictures on the light box at the doctors when they review films.

I only have a tablet with 2 Megapixels camera. I don't have a camera phone.

Tell the doctor to do it and tell her to email to you via her clerical staff

I know its not that simple, but worth a try. I tried several times to get my scans from a hospital. The last time they tried to send me away I lay down and refused to leave until they gave me a disc.
I'm a pain in the ass patient. But no-one else has the same urgency about your health as you do. AND THAT DRIVES ME CRAZY!
My protest worked. But dramatic I admit, but it got results. And the results. 😁

Yeah, not a good strategy. They did send a few people. security, patient complaint person, unit manager.
It didn't achieve much in the end. But hopelessness can result in desperate behaviour.
That's why when I tell you to hang on, I know it is not an easy task, and that the words don't do justice to what is required everyday to do that.
But you don't have any other acceptable option. Bowing out is not who you are. I read that post regarding desperate acts, so I remember that you learned that you have no choice but to continue to get up and keep going.
The doctor does have the say in whether or not you are referred for surgery.
Don't let their perception of whether or not you can afford treatment sway their decision, fundraising can follow when you know what is required. Get the referrals completed and the assessments done.
