Discovering Your Gifts and Expressing Your Talents

in philosophy •  7 years ago

What am I good at? What are my gifts?

If you've had these questions, then you are on the right track. We all have unique gifts and talents which we can offer the world and those around us, we just have to do some digging and create some experiences in order to discover them.

Whether it's being an entertainer, a teacher, a good communicator, or a good brother, we all have opportunities to share our gifts with others and positively impact our world.

Gratitude

Gratitude for life is the key to entering the present moment, and thus, being aligned with yourself. When we are grateful and hold the vibration of appreciation, we relax into who we are and our lives become natural. This is a door we must remain open in regards to discovering more about ourselves. We are all in different places, but it's up to us to see where we are and give thanks for what we do have in this moment.

Following Your Excitement

Following what excites you is the next key to discovering your gifts and talents. All opportunities start with a small knock on the door, so if anything peaks your curiosity and makes you feel more excitement, it's time to go through that door!

What could end up being a life passion may start as a glimmer of excitement, curiosity, or bliss when experiencing it for the first time. As you then follow this excitement and take action on this new idea or task, you'll begin to grow and expand and discover new talents and skills.

If you're completely impressed by guitar players, but have never touched a guitar, perhaps a guitar lesson would change your life. If you're amazed at how well someone is at public speaking, perhaps there's a gift inside of you that you would love to share if you possessed that skill set.

Go for it, take action and discover what works for you!

Trial And Error

Whatever your gift is, you must work at it and build it in order to become great. Through trial and error, and ups and downs, you create for yourself the opportunity to expand and become a master at your craft. Whether it is communication skills, athletics, or painting, the more you do it, the more you learn the subtleties and fine points of what is necessary for success.

The best part is, we can always continue learning and growing, so there's no need to rush! Just keep going and discovering more about who you are in the process.

Sharing

By stepping out and sharing your gifts with others, you give back to the whole world. If you're a teacher, and you continually focus on how to deliver a greater message to your students, then your messages will reach farther than if you just settled and did the basics. If you're a guitar player and you continue working on your craft, you will be able to impact people more deeply by having the experiences and muscle memory of playing your most passionate songs.

Sharing our gifts and talents with others is what makes our world go round with love, and the more we tap into our truest selves and share our gifts, the more we co-create a world that is ever increasingly more beautiful.

Dang good stuff! I really like how you put in there “follow your excitement”. So many of us let fear stop us from doing that!

Yup it's such a tough thing to go through, but when we do it we reveal more about who we truly are!
