You mentioned that the swamp has gone dry as bone. I hope it still rains there but due to lost natural recharging of water in higher elevations the water has been lost.If artificial recharging is used at higher elevations by digging ponds for recharging the lost sub soil moisture and base flow the swamp and the forest can be regenerated at an accelerating rate. Thanks brother for beautiful pictures.

Ahh, we actually live in a semi desert, so it is normal for there to be little rain in the summer. We went nearly 2 months without rain this summer. Luckily, up on our mountaintop there are underground aquifers or something, but the plants and animals still dont have access to those and we dont really have the means to be building ponds.
There are ponds, and riparian zones, and the trees are coming back so so will the moisture. In the summertime I will show everyone this beautiful riparian zone close to us, my favorite hiking spot, full of ancient ceders that didnt burn down in 2003.
