Farming In Alberta

in photography •  7 years ago

Alberta is well known as Oil province but farming is also very important part of the economy here. We have a lot of good fertile land but growing season is short. That's why the farmers need to be smart and efficient.

The most important thing is to have a good and reliable equipment. And it should be big. Really big.
I prepared a couple of shots so you can get the impression.

Every grain farmer needs this kind of semi truck to get the grain from the field and to the market.

These bales weight 300kg or even more so the proper trailer to load them is a must.

You definitely need double tires if you don't want to get stuck on the field.

And a side view just to get the full picture how big it is. They can hold 30 cubic meters or 30 tons of the liquid.

Almost done.

I hope you'll appreciate my today's effort to present you something new even if the photos are not of great quality.

Have a good start to a new week, my friends.

Potatoes and corns!

The truck is so huge, and the tractor has such enormous wheels!!!

wow gud dude me also a farmer in india

Double tires are not to avoid getting stuck. They are to distribute the weight of the vehicle over larger area, so the ground is not compact beyond usability

Nice one @oldtimer, i am really impress ,motivated with your posts. You basis it mostly to things around you,to things you can see. This one is base on the farming activities , the other posts may be the weather conditions and they are really nice post .You are really promoting your home, state, and country at large. That is big farming, for sure! Everything around here has become agribusiness. I miss the family farms with 20 cows and six pigs and a flock of chickens!

wow, great job, i really like photography @oldtimer.

Some of the best Canadian beef comes from Alberta too. AAA angus from Alberta aged just right is to die for!!!

Wow.... amazing photography....I appreciate this nature.

very cool cars, it's amazing, amazing technology.

it is true that farmers need trucks to bring the crops to the market, and agricultural land must be fertile so that the harvest will be satisfactory, good post, I resteem yes

The Nature, the corn, hoarses, milk trucks, silosis, everything reminds me on those happy TV Series with a lot of kids and happiness. Different situation and always excellent points. There were no silosis and trucks actually but still it reminds me on those beautiful & romantic times.

Here in my country we never get to see such amazing scenery, Mauritius is such a small island so the farms are also sooo small.

Foxboy loved the pictures! Your posts always brighten my day. I feel like I'm transported, and get a real vibe of the Edmonton area. Thank you for sharing.

I always knew, that there are many special machines for example for agricultural works and oil production, but not represented their the size. It's impressive! I believe, that the people, who drive these cars, deserve a lot of respect!

Excellent...following and upvoteing..You might like my blog usually on the US Southwest...(and northeast)..thanks..)

Awesome. Your photography label so much high @oldtimer. The truck and trucktor is so huge.

What a great machine! They are beautiful in their own way. I was interested in reading and watching. Thanks for this post.

Monster truck!

Friend @ oldtimer although the main activity is the oil, it seems that Alberta is also very prosperous in its agriculture. The grain storage silos, although small, I imagine that they are at their maximum capacity. Nice phothos. Best regards.

Thank you for the detailed overview. Most do not think of Alberta for farming, but it's a very dynamic province partly because of the various topography.

My fathers farm looks like a miniature compared to these. :)

lovely place @oldtimer, thanks friends already sharing information about farming In alberta, good work my friend, good luck always

your photo is very good, @oldtimer, your photo should be an example of inspiration of modern agricultural technology. in my city there is no farming / farms tools like this. agricultural tools where I live is still said to be very traditional.

Mechanised farming is indeed a very great method of farming. It makes farming life more easier and yields great production impact. I love the clear pictures and that horse is beautiful. Are you into farming @oldtimer?

Nice location and promising friends with complete equipment.
I like your posts my friends upvote and resteem

Years ago I had the pleasure of knowing Alberta and it is one of the most beautiful landscapes I have seen .. I am also a farmer ... in a smaller scale than you. But I understand that love that expresses for your land, your production and the satisfaction of feeling part of agricultural producers... congrats...20180209_095328.jpg

excellent farm!

Nice to see that hard work it takes to have that food in the grocery store 👍

great post

I could use a truck like that here in the philippines. A 2 year supply of healthy organic fertilizer ! Upvoted post ! Awesome!

Canada is big with big fields that needs big equipments. Their products are exported internationally.
Those corn silos are magnificent, such an amazing way to store food and also to farm it as well.

OMG, these vehicles really are big!! When I first saw this post, I thought winter was over for you, but it seems unlikely, when I look out of my window.

Great idea! It's so important for farmers. This is really very helpful post...

I still roam our little field with my hands :)
